I don't think I have seen one person defend the play calling. I havent ever seen worse play calling. It was terrible. Bad gameplan over all.

I guess my point was, to definitely not lump everyone who questions Miles into the same group. I'm not calling for heads to roll, death threats, etc..., but there needs to be some accountability, questions answered. Not just "Miles is our coach", therefore blindly follow him. Not acceptable, IMO.

I actually think the game planning was very consistent throughout the year.

If you go back and look at the numbers we attempted 25 passes one time prior to the Alabama game. In the Oregon game Lee only had 98 yards in passing.

Conversely, LSU attempted more than 40 rushes in 5 of those 7 games.

More times than not the Defense game us a short field which is going to lead to more rush attempts.

No, I don't think Les is ever going to change he offensive mentality. With Mett, he is going to have more confidence and allow him to throw more often, but I seriously doubt that Les will get to a 50/50 ratio.

run the ball, especially a varied running attack (more zone cutback running plays off tackle) change things up. run out of 3 WR sets (from under center) and pass on 1st down. go deep more often to keep safeties back and open up the running game you can have an aggressive offense based around the run. you just have to get creative. we still almost 100% run up the gut out of traditional sets, and option out of the pistol/shotgun

Honesty I think if you pitched all of that to Miles he would get the brooktrout look. He's just not interested in any of that.

best passing QB on the team

For a team that starts Jordan Jefferson, that can't be saying much.

It isn't scheme. JJ could not hit wide open plays. he is a huge culprit of the ineptitude. Varying the play calling doesn't work when your qb can't complete wide open passes and your right tackle goes offsides like he was bribed to throw the game. What everyone should lay at Miles' feet is the failure over the last four years to get someone who can play competent SEC level quarterback. Alabama got to the sugar bowl and lost with a first year starter and won a national championship this year. It can be done. The willingness to make a bold change has been missing. Outside of the JJ/Lee issue that has finally resolved itself by the fact they HAVE to move on (thank god), I think Les brings a lot to the table and am overall happy with his performance as coach, last night notwithstanding.

Has Miles ever shown confidence in a QB?

dude

we rarely run outside out of traditional formations

we don't run many routes across the middle

our scheme is elementary and based around talent, not good scheming

In this game we had less downfield passing than most other games this season.

You're asking a 55 year old man to change a decades long philosophy that he's banked his entire career on. Ain't happenin'.

Someone should have made a twitter during the game for what was going on inside his head.

But this is like the total anti-crowton gameplan. Which is what we wanted this year. I think we will expand the playbook next year, but we will always run more than we pass under Les. The only time Les has thrown more was when Rashaun Woods was far and away his best skill position player.

He was trying to make a name for himself at a school that hadn't done anything.

Now he's just trying to hold onto this job.

The fullback dive play in the 4th quarter on third down was the worst call I have seen in football in a long time.

I think Miles gave up on that game halfway through the third quarter.

Eh? They were pretty much 50/50 his 1st 2 years as HC at OK St. Then it was way more running than passing his last 2 years.

Unfortunately, the system is run through the Qb, and therefore limited by his mental and physical limitations.

sure seemed like it.

i'm not pissed that LSU lost.

i'm pissed because miles let running plays get called down 15-0 with 15:00 left in the game.

baffling.
