I can't understand, if he is supposed to be so great, why couldn't he get any playing time over JJ and his QB abilities?

JJ was a senior
JJ had more experience
Miles had some weird mental/emotional connection to JJ

I'm worried about the the QB situation was handled until the last down of the year. So I don't know if any lessons will get learned in the off season.

and 3000 yds is pretty ambitious. 2500ish seems about right.

We did not adjust to the absence of success when the game was still close 6-12 point spread. That frustrates me, but this is even worse:
We also did not adjust due to the exigencies created by time and score. This is really hard to figure. Down two scores with less than 10 minutes remaining, you simply must pick up the pace and take more chances.

That is like 215 ypg if we make it to the SEC championship game

Thank God we are paying him millions of dollars to coach our team.

If Les Miles actually put the best product on the field. Mettenberger would have started this entire season and we wouldn't be questioning any quarterbacks.
What Miles has done is essentially removed the competition aspect from the teams in terms of competing for starting roles. Instead he plays seniority/favorites.
IMO I don't care if someone is a true freshman or a 5th year senior, when you're ready to play, you're ready to play.

readily apparent in the 4th quarter
watching us try to establish the run and run clock when we had 15 minutes left was mind-numbing

After further review and consult with my esteemed colleagues, I think the principle failure of Miles in this game was the development of a "backup" plan and the unwillingness to implement it.
And yes, the backup plan should have included Lee. After the first offensive drive in the 2nd half in which LSU failed to score, I believe we would have switched offensive modes and at least given the offense a last ditch effort under Lee. The game was already out of hand.

it seems a lot of things were in the gameplan and got scratched at the last minute
scared coaching? i dunno

76-18
3 sec west titles
2 sec championships
1 national title
And you want him gone? Get some perspective.

Before the game he said they would not do anything differently and they did not. However, he does not seem to take criticism well and appears to work harder and make better choices when he is universally criticized. Anyone who had the opportunity for greatness should have moved heaven and earth to achieve it, including getting extra help, asking for opinions of those in the know, etc. He did nothing out of the ordinary. Hence, he is mediocre at best.

When you pay someone millions, you expect that to have a team better prepared to at least score a point in a national championship game after 40+ days, no?

it's understandable with all the major frickups miles had last night, and even more understandable since he gave up
i think the fanbase is being light on him considering he quit last night

id like to know why we completely abandoned J Lee after Nov5. I think the two headed monster offense was working. I wish we had kept that up.

JJ was put on a pedestal like he was Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers.
If one of those 2 guys has a bad game, of course they won't be benched. For some reason Les Miles thinks JJ is definitively the starter when in fact he's not even an SEC caliber QB.
Why he was put on that pedestal, no one really has any idea, only guesses.
