No, I don't think Les is ever going to change he offensive mentality.
LSU had the benefit of field position for much of the year, this wasn't the case last night. Still, didn't change the game plan. I haven't done a lot of football coaching, but played a little bit. There didn't seem to be any alternatives to deviate from the game plan last night.

I really think its a lack of trust in JL/JJ than Miles just being over conservative. He let MF have complete freedom.

what sucks worse is that bama obviously came out with a different gameplan, and we didn't adjust at all
Florida / Florida State Rematch = Blowout.
Alabama / LSU Rematch = Dominant, if not a complete Blowout.

nothing prevented LSU from doing their own scheming. we had 37 days off to do it
complacency and playing not to lose in coaching should be punished, and boy were we last night

and was running the ball in the 4th Q when the game was on the line; after it was already proven that we couldnt run the ball.
The biggest offense was the fullback carries last night
You really think you're going to give it to the first guy through into the teeth of the Bama defense?

good point. I can't say that I've ever witnessed a coach just give up like that.

i really wish somebody would ask les when he actually gave up on the game

Never thought I would see it in a game that big.

But what are you advocating for here? Dana holgorsen type offense or Jim Mclwain?
What about just Lane Kiffin?

you can be aggressive and run the ball
oregon is aggressive and is a running team
auburn last year was aggressive and was a running team
They both run spread option, hurry up offenses. OK St. did not run this with Les.

wisconsin is aggressive and runs teh ball
Define aggressive. They run the ball out of pro sets most of the time and then use play action off of that. I don't really find that to be aggressive play calling.

Notice SFP never answers these questions either. He's a strange guy...

And if he would deny it, I would hope they call him a liar. There's proof he quit. His quirky, likable personality ain't gonna get him out of this.

What I learned last night was that Miles is even more hard headed than I thought. He could have at least attempted to adapt and overcome by ditching the game plan that wasn't working. But did he do anything at all? Absolutely not.
I have little faith that he will ever own up to what he did last night, admit his mistakes, learn from them, and improve. The man is just too hard headed.

Bama scored 60+ twice last year. That does't mean they run an aggressive offense.
Posted on 1/10/12 at 1:49 pm to ZTiger87
aggressive offense means you change things up, call a creative game plan, make big plays, and you dictate what the defense does, instead of letting the defense dictate what you do.
no 1st downs and a steady dose of 5 yard passing plays and weak option runs is anti-aggressive
