Coach O says it’s already clear who the better player is. IMO that has to be Myles. He has a cannon and showed last year he could make every throw. Max was impressive but more as a runner.

The fact that you haven't heard anything means it isn't decided

I mean even if they did know already it’d make all the sense in the world to not let it out. Chances are the other an transfers if he finds out early he won’t start. Also why give your opponents that much longer to game plan for one vs the other?

“We in the locker room know who the best player is, there ain’t no question, everybody knows. It’s going to work itself out and I’m going to let them play,” Orgeron said during a recent appearance on Mike Detillier’s “Sports Talk” show on WWL. “The competition is going to be fierce every day. I told them, everything that you do (will be studied and evaluated) and you know, both those guys along with Garrett [Nussmeier], having some great summers.

“I think it’s going to work itself out. I think it’s going to be obvious. And obviously, you know, game week going into UCLA, we are going to name our starter; but if we could do it before, we can. It’s all going to be a feel thing.”

He saying that the guys in the locker room know who the best player is when the summer is over in general and not that they know right now.

That quote makes it sound pretty decided. If that quote is true then them not announcing it is just doing their best to not have a true freshman as the back up.

Not the best quote from Coach. Why not just say the standard "it's a tight competition that will take all summer and fall to decide." No need to add that everyone already knows who the best is, but we are just going to drag it out anyway. If you already know, give all the first team reps to the #1 player. If you don't know, then why say that?

Except for throws on third down, in the red zone, or on the goal line

I believe in Myles! I think he he can stay healthy he’d have a great year. Easily second best season for a qb at lsu besides Burrow. Hell maybe even in talks for the heisman.

Great. We will trot out Brennan to get a bunch of empty stats and constant 3rd down/goal line inefficiency

Then why did Burrow ever see the field?

unless he's learned a little awareness in the pocket, he may get sacked more than any other q.b. in the history of lsu. he knows how to stand in concrete in the pocket for sure. i don't give a damn how strong your arm is.

Look at what he did last year. With a whole new system and a terrible o line. Played his heart out and if the defense would’ve been anything better than awful he’d won those games. Myles kept us in the games.

Them not announcing make me thing its Max.

If announced that it's Myles, Max isn't transferring.

If Max is announced, Myles is definitely transferring

So keeping it quiet as long as possible gives a better chance to keep Myles from transferring so the only back up isn't a true freshman

You have to hear what he says after that. It makes it clear he’s talking about the future and not the present. Basically saying the competition in fall camp will make it clear who the best man is and that applies to the entire team.

As bad as the D was, the Mizzou game was still ours to win. Couldn’t get it done when it counted.

Played his heart out

And then told you about it. His “I gave it my all” quote after the Ms. St. loss was pretty weak.

I believe if coach o knew it wouldn’t be Myles that he’d let em know. As long as he’s waited for his turn coach would tell him to go somewhere else and have a shot to show what he can do

Yes. Some have decided it's Max, and some have decided it's Brennan.

Yea against the worst teams LSU played. Go back and watch that State game. Whatever it is that great qbs have, call it moxie for arguments sake, he doesn’t have it. I don’t think he sucks but I also don’t think he’s shown anything to warrant the starting job. Reminds me a lot of Jarrett Lee. Good arm, good size, knows what he’s doing, doesn’t have IT.

All he had to do was make one or two plays on third down against Mizzou and he couldn’t. Yea the defense blows but so did MB on third down.
