Current logo absolutely paid proper respect to the previously best “bullet” logo. Sailer Mike is unique but not seems like he needs a cigarette hanging from his lips.

My purest favorite is the psycho bengal...BUTTTTT...
I can understand how it was difficult from a design standpoint. It's chaotic and asymmetric.
The one we have now means we get that attitude and ethos back, while the symmetry and slight simplification make it easy to replicate, thus increases it's longevity through marketability.
It's the best in a long time and has the potential for staying power

yeah Sailor Mike isn't unique to LSU, but I love that one.

The combination of toonces and Ellis Hugh - both in effect in the early 00s - was really an amazing 1 2 punch. The absolute nadir of graphic design. It's almost impressively bad that those two made it past committee
