But after typing that I just realized there would be a hole in that logic because if LSU were to be undefeated and #1 that would mean they won the SEC championship, which gives you a guaranteed spot in the playoffs and is not subjective lol

CFP is likely removed enough from the NCAA to be able to make and enforce its own rules independently of whatever occurs with the NCAA. Their relationship with the conferences is contractual.

This is becoming absolutely ridiculous. This is not for this poster, it's the situation.
You're going to tell me I can get a judge to play me because, I didn't make the team or to play in a game the team didn't win. I can get a judge to get me a TRO because I didn't get the job I wanted.
I believe this is a federal matter and the minute it gets there, the silly state games we are playing all over the country are done.
I will say, if the SEC does go the federal route, it should ask that all state matters be stayed, which would take care of all of the issues, including Chambliss, basketball etc. If we are going to live in fantasy land, let's go all the way.

Obviously wouldn't be left out of a 12 team playoff.
If LSU is 11-1/12-0 they aren't going to be able to defend leaving us out, but they'd give us the hardest path amongst teams with similar records.
The other scenario is we're on the bubble and they make us 13 and get away with it without backlash outside of Baton Rouge.
This is assuming the CFP playoff committee is stupid and believes LSU is driving all of this shite and no one else is guilty of anything.

I can kind of justify it.
The players have standing right now because they could lose money. The NCAA says they are ineligible, so that's clear cut.
The SEC says that they would punish the schools. That's another line and it's arguable if it crosses the line.
Now, the CFP is another line altogether. Does not making the CFP financially impact any of these players? That's what a judge would have to determine.

Then the playoff will be a circus because LSU is not the only school that will have former "NFL" players. However, I could see them leaving LSU out if they are a bubble team to "teach them a lesson".

In the same vein, there's no current threat of irreparable harm that the CFP committee poses. The notion that the committee will cause irreparable harm to these former pro players by leaving out their chosen college teams from the playoff is totally speculative at this point.

The fact that they are discussing this and its public opens them up to being included in the lawsuits. The adults who were the ones that caused the issues are just upset that they are getting beat and are trying their best to circumvent the courts.

I miss when boys were boys, girls were girls, college athletes were college athletes, and pro athletes were pro athletes. Why do we need to be law students to know who tf is on our football team?
