Is the CFP committee the ultimate nuke on NFL players in college ball?

CFP Administration, LLC, manages the administration operations of the College Football Playoff. Members of the company are the 10 FBS conferences (American, Atlantic Coast, Big Ten, Big 12, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West, Pac-12, Southeastern and Sun Belt) and the University of Notre Dame
They could blackball teams that play NFL players. No TRO is going to have any influence on the selection process.

They have full discretion to make rankings as they see fit.
So technically, they could not call it a black ball and just say a team isn't one of the top 12, right?

The conference’s own the CFP, if the conferences are part of the NCAA, seems the CFP would be painted into the same corner the as the NCAA and the respective conferences.

Exactly. Even if they say that are going to do it...no court can change their discretion to rank the teams as they see fit.

Nope. There is no injunction or remedy to prevent them from favoring non NFL-player teams. There is no standing to sue or have a court change their judgment as to who makes the tourney. Thanks for playing.

100% if LSU goes 9-3 and still in the top of the playoff picture this year, we aren't getting in, 5th year pro guys or not.

Imagine Texas has some unexpected losses and LSU is right there in the 9-14 spot.

For shits and giggles lets say LSU plays the players they have signed and goes undefeated. What does your CFP do then? In your mind there is a world where they leave 13-0 or hell 12-1 LSU out of the playoffs and claim its not related to the practice squad crew? You have to be able to run it the same no matter the scenario.

This isn't about a 13-0 or 12-1 LSU. This is about a 10-2, 10-3, or even 9-3 LSU, which is statistically a far more likely scenario than what you are describing.

In this scenario LSU could be undefeated and #1 and they could still leave them out, simply due to the fact that their rankings are subjective.
I could see that being in play for them if it gets to that point. There would be no way to force them to rank accordingly.

They “snub” LSU at the 10 or 11 seed and leave us out.
Lawyers representing these 2022 kids will then file suit that they colluded to damage their clients earning potential in the playoffs.
It takes one sympathetic judge to blast the CFP into orbit with damages in this scenario.
I think CFP would be actually very cautious and include LSU to not have that scenario even be possible.
They “snub” LSU at the 10 or 11 seed and leave us out.
