Is season a huge disappointment if we lose to A&M?

If we beat A&M, which we should, LSU will be guaranteed a Sugar Bowl or NY6 bowl and that is by all measures a successful season. If Orgeron shits the bed and we blow this game, we finish third in the west and the Sugar Bowl & NY6 bowls are gone.

Will this be a huge disappointment for everyone knowing what could have been or will people make excuses and say "oh well, its better than the 7-5 season people predicted."

In my opinion if we lose this game it stains the entire season.

the answer is yes but if it does happen the narrative will shift to "we have a chance to get to 10 wins with a bowl win!!" like it did last year

I mean The opportunity to win 11 games would be very disappointing.

I also think A&M is a team we should beat.

I loved how fast the narrative switched from “we are going to win 10 games and signs a top 10 class and be a top 10 team and y’all arent happy” to “9-4 in his first year is fine”

No. It brings it from "huge accomplishment" to the realm of "a pretty good season that exceeded expectations".

But, it will be a lagging disappointment given that this is the last game and given the impact it will have on the bowl selection.

It depends on your perspective I guess. If you took a glimpse at our final schedule results a week before the Miami game, I would be thrilled.

Now that we’re here, yes it would be disappointing.

This is a HUGE game. My perception (which doesn't mean shite) is definitely gonna change about this season if we lay an egg in college station.

Not a huge disappointment by any means, but it would be a disappointment given how the season has gone

The issue for LSU has always been whether we will compete with Alabama for championships. This administration seems to be saying that they give up on that as too expensive to attain.
So now the question is what is good enough for LSU in the SECW. It may be behind A & M and its new coach, if we cannot win here.
It makes a difference in Bowls, sure, but the bigger difference will be in recruiting and perception of the direction of the program.

Yes and No. More yes because its been a great year close but not quite. Not what I expected earlier on Dandy Dons after taking all the media doom and gloom I picked the team 9 and 3. Just kinda hoped everyone was wrong. Now there's a chance to go 10 and 2 I want it all. geaux tigers

It would definitely be a huge letdown. That, combined with the embarrassing loss to Bama, and I think most goodwill will be destroyed.
