Video review today would have overturned that TD. We stole one! Great win. Early Doucet is also the most forgotten LSU stud no one talks about.

Was that the 77-0 game featuring Carlos Carson and Tommy Kramer?

There was so much crap going on in So. Louisiana at the time, it’s hard to recall much of anything from that game other than Doucet’s TD.

So in today's world with review, would Doucet's game winning TD catch be overturned?

The ball came out when he hit the ground and he didn't have the purest control of it when he was up. Definitely not ruled a catch now.
I still remember that play, and thinking it would be called incomplete. I'm glad we won.

wild game. remember the fake punt pass for a 1st down?
This requires more attention. Going strictly off memory, wasn't it something like the first 4th down of the year, and we were back on our own 20, something like that? And simply because the coverage team turned their back on the gunner, the punter threw to him?

That's some straight Kiffin-type shite there.

Legit an LSU alum that has hardly ever talked about this game in 15 years. I guess Les really numbed us to insane outcomes.

Yeah and could win the first game.

Current coach would have just lost that.

a blocked punt AND kick for a TD

Even crazier when you consider how rare it is that we block punts and kicks. I’m pretty sure I can count on one hand the amount of times we have done either since this game, especially blocking punts.

Story goes the special teams made a hand signal they thought meant fake. It’s what Saban had. So they ran a fake. Got lucky.

Les' first game as HC. His last (Auburn '16) was likewise crazy.

Maybe not. Early Doucet made a "football move" in initially making the catch. Check out the last minute confirmed catch in LSU vs South Carolina 2024-- very similar play, and that confirmation overturned the initial call of "incomplete."

]. I have a pic with my son and Darius Guice, at a basketball game, when he was a baby. Then ran across him this year at the baseball game and did a side by side. Pretty cool. You should do it if you find the pic. [img]LINK [/img

If you want to see the biggest BS catch of all time, watch the Super Bowl 12 catch by Butch Johnson of the cowgirls against the Broncos.

The ball basically bounced off of his hands and they called it a TD.

I'm not sure how to link it here or I would. But it's easy to find.

Still don’t think Doucet’s game winner was a catch. Didn’t hold onto it through the fall, definitely wouldn’t be ruled a catch today. Not that I’m complaining..

Was at game, changed to Phoenix one week from game, LSU fans still showed up well. Arizona state had ball inside our 10 driving to go up 3 scores in third quarter when they fumbled, that’s when the game turned. Phoenix rolled out the red carpet for us because of Katrina, treated it like the fiesta bowl. Everywhere we went people would ask if our families were ok, good people! One of my favorite road games!

Was that the game where they allowed students to watch from tiger stadium? If so that’s where I saw it
