Is it EVER the players fault?

I've been on the site for many years and every single time LSU doesn't have a TD scoring drive or stop a team from scoring you'll see 100's of posts immediately calling for coaches heads.
At what point can this fan base just say, "hey maybe that 4-5 star recruit wasn't all that great to begin with."
Can we never hold players accountable for anything, on or off the field? Skipping classes and getting suspended, taking it easy during practice and completely gassed after 2 plays, spending all night at the casino hours before kickoff, betting against themselves on a parlay.
I do not think BK is the best we could've got but at some point you can just see, some of these dudes are rat shite.

Yeah but it's the coaches job to coach them to play well and recruit better. You can't be in the SEC and recruit and coach like your at ND. You will get your shite pushed in like we are this year

The staff has been really bad at evaluating talent……especially guys on the both lines of scrimmage….

You missed the point. The same coaches, minus 1, had the best offense in college football. They are getting the same caliber coaching, the players just suck.

recruit better
This is more the problem, but it’s not so much as just recruiting better talent. They have talent, but back to the other point, they just aren’t figuring things out.
It does all ultimately fall on the coaches to get the right people tho, so they clearly need to figure something out.

The problem is when just about every player has regressed or sucks, I’m not sure you can put that on the individuals and you have to look broader.

It absolutely is the quality of the players that is a major issue but it's the players at every single position which goes to roster management and recruiting.
The head coach is responsible for building the team and staff, if the roster is very weak then that's on the head coach

That’s on coaches. There’re ways now to monitor this.

The coach recruits and picks the players.
If the players aren’t good enough, it’s on the coaches.

Never
Always the coaches
Nevermind these guys are pros making big money with years of exp
It's an odd situation many here have.
They think they are super fans above criticizing players for lack of effort or execution.
To answer your question it's absolutely the players fault.
Especially at this level.
They know what to do.

Obviously that 1 missing was the linchpin to that #1 offense. And of course the Heisman QB who ran forward instead of backwards while throwing the ball. Just another reminder that the Nuss Bus is a short bus and his OC is seated next to him while the HC is driving it.

I disagree on the lines of scrimmage. I think they've been really bad in the secondary. On the LOS:
We had 3 DT's drafted last year - 2 of which transfered in under Kelly. Womack and Swinson appear to be hits. The rest are just too young to tell at this point.
We have 2 future draft picks on the OL that were recruited under Kelly that are sure to get drafted. Miles Frazier transfered in under Kelly and is currently graded out as a mid round draft pick. Zalance Heard transferred out because he wanted to play tackle immediately but was behind 2 future NFL picks. We sure could use him on the interior right now.

I’m over the “they’re just kids” shield that’s surrounded college athletes forever. They are adults. They are now getting paid with money donated by fans to a collective.
I’m not saying fans should cross the line but in my opinion college players are just as fair game as the pros now in terms of criticism.

This team does not execute plays very well.....in all 3 phases.

First time watching? The Coach controls the development of players. When they don’t produce, next man up. BK sucks at all aspects of the game minus banging his fist on a table after a loss

Sage Ryan was a 5-star safety.
A 5-star safety should be feared by offenses. Sage is not a difference maker.

Uh, Chicken was just in here yesterday defending Frogman. We've also had NUMEROUS in game threads deleted in the last 2 years calling out Perkins for bad plays.

Sure. But if the employees tank a company the CEO is getting fired for not having better employees

Now that these kids are making big dollars, yes they need to be held accountable for their performance.

If you get into a habit of bashing the players, then other players won't want to come here.
