Is Davhon Keys being slept on a little bit?

I know he was burned out on some of those routes, but I honestly see potential coming off of 88 total tackles a forced fumble and a half sack. I see a good amount of opportunity, and with Chris kiffin coaching I believe he's going to show out.

He seems to be somewhat limited athletically and didn’t grade well last year from what I recall. Should be a good player to have in the rotation though. Linebacker is one of those spots where anyone can rotate next to Weeks. Seems to be pretty open.

I'm sure he is going to play a good bit, but I imagine we run with 2 LBs in most normal sets. Don't see why the SEC leader in tackles last year doesn't start next to Whit.
When we play our most important 5-6 SEC games this year, I also doubt there will be as many rotations at the 2 LB spots like you'll see on the DLine. (assuming health with Whit/Dottery)
However, I imagine he is that next guy up in 3 LB sets.

I hope so, but I don't see it. It's not that he's a bad player. It's that he's not really an impact player. With previous great LSU LBs you at least saw flashes immediately, even if they weren't consistently on the field (see guys like Weeks and White). Outside of the pick-6 vs. Baylor where the ball bounced right to him as bouncing off the RB's face, I can't really recall another great play that he's made.
Solid player? Sure.

I wouldn’t say slept on. He is a damn solid LB. Weeks and Dottery have better size and are more athletic. Keys is the clear next guy in though.
I will say he is looking a bit bigger and more mature in some of those practice videos. Wouldn’t be shocked if he made some improvement this year.

Do you believe Chris Kiffin is a better coach than Blake Baker?
I’m not sure what you mean by slept on? He’s a backup LB. I think we somewhat know what he is, at least at the moment. Last year he was fine but at times struggled due to his lack of speed. Hopefully he has improved.

He did pretty well last year, but the main 2 ILBs will be Weeks and Dottery. Keys knows how to play the position IMO and makes quick reads.
I'm high on the whole group, but I think a name to watch is Zach Weeks. He's basically a kid and this should be year one for him, but he was the go to guy last year when injuries occurred and he's gotten bigger and stronger this year.

He’s fine as a backup & situationally. He’s just not built to chase plays vs modern speed offenses

He’s a decent player. Just not the fastest or most athletic guy. Good LB3 to have though

Really good in interior running game and short yardage situations but not great in coverage and can get beat to the edge quite often. But he is really valuable if played in the right situations.
