Listened to his podcast from yesterday, and he mentioned that the combination of Curiel, Jones and Dickinson at the top of the lineup (1,2,3) has brought LSU to a 24-4 record, with an 11-4 record in the SEC.

Without that combination leading off the lineup, LSU is 14-7 with a 4-5 record in the SEC, and they’re averaging 2 runs less per game.

Seems like the simple fix is to put that combination back at the top, bump up Hernandez to the 5 slots and bump down Pearson and Milam to the 7/8 holes.

Slight lineup changes don't have such massive impacts...it moreso has to do with an increase in the quality of competition. Our early season stats were inflated as a result of playing Missouri and Mississippi State.

I agree. It’s unfortunate that he has a horrible voice for radio. I still listen cuz like you said, he’s plugged in but his voice will limit him in that profession.

This can be said for practically everyone though. Arkansas’s stats are crazy inflated from Missouri and USC series where they averaged damn near 16 runs a game. I do think going back to what we know worked will certainly help. As well as people just going back to there norm. For instance, Milam isn’t a .200 hitter in the SEC. Although he’s acted like it all year. Hopefully what he did this weekend will jump start him.

6. Hernandez
7. Braswell
8. Milian
9. Stansfield

Here's your lineup, no need to overthink it, ride this all the way to the CWS. Thank me later!

Stanfield is the perfect leadoff or 9 hole hitter. Curiel is the best hitter on the team so you want him to have the most at bats, which leaves Stanfield at the 9 spot, which he has excelled in this season.

If it were up to me, I’d go:
1. Curiel
2. Jones
3. Dickinson
4. Frey
5. Hernandez
6. Pearson/Brown
7. Braswell
8. Milam
9. Stanfield

Yeah it may limit your LH bats, but I think it protects your power hitters at the top more by stacking some RH bats together. Then again, I’m just a fan.

Could also switch the Pearson/Brown platoon with Hernandez

I understand Jay likes to tinker but it is bewildering to me why you wouldn’t put a great OBP player in Curiel in front of your best power hitter in Jones.

The Saturday game 2 lineup was the weirdest lineup in the history of LSU baseball. LSU managed to win, though, albeit with 2 runs.

2023 taught me not to hit the panic button that team was a dead man walking until about a week before post season play

It can all come together that fast, it can come just as quick as it left

Definitely reasonable to be a little concerned, but I haven’t seen anything that would allow me to predict the future of this team with any real certainty one way or another

I think before it’s all said and done Curiel is back at the leadoff spot

I'll give you Missouri, but after that we beat Jared Spencer, Pico Kohn, and Kyson Witherspoon 3 straight Fridays. That's 3 of the best pitchers in the country

As far as State and Oklahoma, LSU won those games, scoring two runs each. That was all pitching and defense.

I tend to feel a bit dismissive of people who constantly misspell an LSU players' name. I'm not sure how to feel about a guy who misspells 3 of 10.

ETA: 4, missed Stanfield
