As he vicariously pimps out unwitting LSU co-eds to would be rapists.....he and Art were looking the other way on the whole Baylor thing and then tried to cover it up......I'd rather Urban Meyer

It would go down a little. No doubt. But it's about balance. Right now, we have complete shite on offense.

My biggest concern with Leach is recruiting. He has never recruited well. And it's fine to not have beef on your los in the Big12 and Pac12. But not in the SEC. I think the offense would improve, but overall the team would suffer. The last thing LSU needs is to break the LA recruiting wall that we've built. It would destroy us.

Not a good fit. Both are solid coaches but their styles are not complimentary.

Or not

quote:

That can manifest itself a few different ways on a football field, but on Saturday the biggest indicator may have been the digits in the time of possession column. The Cougars held onto the ball for nearly 42 minutes – 41:16 to be exact – and the Buffaloes had it for 18:14.

Even during a sluggish first quarter – the only one that didn’t produce points for 10th-ranked WSU – the Cougars probably played better offense than what the box score reflected. No points, but WSU and Gardner Minshew had possession of the ball for 12:05, reducing the workload for Tracy Claeys’ defense, which only spent 2:55 on the field.

Dude goes into Lubbock and gets Tech into the Top 5 during the 2007 or 08 season. He goes to Pullman, mutha frickin Washington in the middle of nowhere and takes a laughing stock program and turns them into a very stout program. He's gotta be geting these people from somewhere and if they are not the best of players, he's certainly coaching them the frick up.....and they are having fun doing it

In Louisiana , I would bet he could get just about all of the best skill players to say in state and he could probably get the big O line types to stay as well because he would run a more than competent offense. He and Aranda against Saban.....would be interesting. Lots of scheming....and piracy

There's a lot of "maybe's" in that post.

The absolute worst thing that can happen to LSU is to mess up on recruiting. They have walls around LA for the most part. It doesn't matter who our HC is, if we still recruit well in LA, it can do no long term damage to the program. I think if there's a concern about recruiting with a coach, we don't need to risk it.

FWIW and I detest Finebaum, he said a couple of weeks ago that Leach has a "horrible reputation" when it comes to working with athletic directors, presidents, BOS, et al. Point being, he's far from a team player & has "caused chaos with his bosses where ever he's been". And that makes sense when considering what happened at TT. But, really ranters here mock Coach Miles & Coach O about their odd character personas..have you ever seen Leach's whole pirate thing?

He also knows coaching talent. There was a time when Leach, Briles, Dino Babers, Mark Mangino and Sonny Dykes were all sitting around on the same staff. The freaking RPO came out of this little brain trust. And oh by the way, Dave Aranda was a grad assistant.

Mike Leach isn't a great fit for LSU, IMO... but Tennessee should have hired him.

This is what makes the "rebuild" narrative so hilarious. It's as if the posters pushing this narrative believe that you need an offense full of 5*s to run a competent offense.

If Mike Leach were coaching this team, I guarantee you we would have a top 20 offense.

What did Leach have to do with Baylor?

Against Pac12 defenses, they have managed 217 rushing attempts for 777 yards, an average of 3.6 yds/carry.

That’s good for 128th out of 129 teams.

They tried the air raid at Kentucky with Mumme and Leach. Didn’t work in the SEC.

What is the fascination with Leach’s pass-every-down-no-matter-what offense that has some LSU fans so enamored?

If the line cannot block I do not see any change in our record. We might have more or less style points. We would still be 8 and 2orworse.

One of the things that irritates me on this board is the comments. Imagine something that will never happen and it’s impact on our offense. Leach as our OC.

What spread team has ever won in the SEC? None. What team that does not run the ball has won the SEC? None. Maybe the Florida teams of the 1990’s.

Tennessee really missed an opportunity to hire him last year. I would take him here in a heartbeat over what we currently have.

He also begged for an interview with the U which they wouldn't give. Leach would be awesome in Miami.

Defense struggles holding big leads with our current offense. Imagine how bad it would be with a play station style offense.

I think there is more to the whole Texas Tech thing that has never gotten out publicly. But , yeah, he's a smartass, for that matter Saban was considered by many on the BOS to be an arrogant prick.

Geee.

I wonder why Paul "Bubba Gump" Finebaum would try to convince everybody in the SEC that Mike Leach is useless?

No doubt defense would suffer some and Clemson is one of the best running teams in college football
