Signed a dinosaur to a 10-year guaranteed deal at the start of a transformative period for CFB.

That was a miserable and thorough failure by Scott. You could tell people were apprehensive up front, but fans understandably weren’t just gonna fold the day of the hire.

Understatement. Several of us were pissed. We were told to shut up all BK had to do was manage the ship and LSU is LSU.

Now we got a woke university and a shitty football team.

Thank god for baseball.

Well he currently has two inept coordinators… which falls on him as the head coach… another issue (which is the real issue no one’s bringing up) is the overall talent… an argument could be made that ND player for player is more talented than LSU… the level of talent roster wide has fell off under BK… Nabors, Campbell, Thomas and JD made us look better than we actually were the last 3 years…

You forgot "young" or at least "younger".
These kids are free agents and don't have to put up old hardheaded men that throw them under the bus.
Some sort of contract for the players would probably help coaches like BK. Untill then, we need a fired up young guy full of energy.

One of the teams that is thriving the most so far in this era (Indiana) is led by a 60+ year old coach.

Is he doing it? I watched Freeman get blown out in a title game last year too.

If a blow out is an 11 point game, that was a 1 score game until 26 seconds left, sure they got “blown out” but that’s a terrible take. Either way they won 3 playoff games to get there, including over the SEC champion. Marcus Freeman has the same amount of bowl wins, 5, already as BK had while at ND.

And, if the skill talent level is higher, I think that points to ND opening things up more. Brady Quinn basically said that’s what happened after Kelly left.

I personally think the skill level is higher, and a big part of that are systematic changes ND made when Kelly left. To that point, LSU is one of the best recruiting schools in the country. I said it from day 1, and can go back 4 years and check my post history, that Kelly’s weaknesses in recruiting should be masked by LSU’s inherent advantages. The fact he hasn’t been able to capitalize on that should say everything there is to say about his limitations as a coach.

Kelly was either going to correct his weaknesses at LSU and win multiple titles or fail miserably, there was never going to be a middle ground.

Good for them. It's not working here.

He hasn’t been engaged day to day.

He wants to hold his coordinators accountable but he isn’t hold them accountable during the week. Only on game day, when it’s too late

Greatness calls for effort, accountability, and focus every day. He isn’t doing that.

I mean, ok. Wasn’t it like 31-7 late into the 3rd quarter? Doesn’t matter, the result is the same. I think Freeman has been fine but I’ve seen nothing to point to ND being on the verge of winning the national title.

He’s just old and washed up. Even Saban didn’t have the energy or passion to keep up with this new era of ball. Kelly wants a ship to end his career but doesn’t have the effort or the know how to get it done.

ND brand is completely different than the LSU brand. Some things BK was not ready for coming to a university like LSU. ND had what he was fitted for, thats why Penn State would be a better fit for BK. End of story

He doesn’t now how to coach the kids playing today

It’s really that simple. He came to LSU at the moment if a huge shift in player management.

If he stayed at ND, I think he would have struggled there as well

WE hired a CEO/Manager, not a football coach!
Thats the problem.

He failed to connect with the students and the fan base! And... his assistant coaches hiring have been terrible for the most part.

It’s a completely different game now.

He never stood a chance thanks to certain people.
Very sad in my opinion, but typical of the times we live in.

And to hear his speaking about instilling great traits in the players and program was great but somehow hasn’t put the fire in them.

Letting Corey Raymond go, and then not keeping Denbrock as the OC. Worst decisions he could’ve made.

BK isn’t trying guy is taking days off in season and is treating this like a 9-5 that he is coasting to retirement.

He also brought over a bunch of failures
