You need to link/bump/quote about 40 of your posts.

Would look like a genius.

You think one inning makes all well in the world?

More often than not the first pitch is a fastball

I don't believe I've said anything like that.

And even more so after 1-0. Good talk.

What happens when you're down 0-1

You still have 2 more strikes to go before you're out. The key part of the OP is "so often".

I just don't agree that getting behind in the count solely to see more pitches is a good way to bust a slump

Neither is going after the very first strike you see.

Please tell me one of you have a memory longer than a fly.

It was just last year -LAST YEAR- folks were complaining about how they weren't swinging on the first pitch. It was so bad, the pitchers were lobbing them in because they knew CPM made them take the first strike.

Sheesh.

When your top 4 guys in the lineup have less than 10 hits total for a 6 game span you have to change something. The rest of the lineup feeds off of them. See some pitches. They are swinging at first pitch strikes instead of being patient and getting their pitch. Weak ground balls and pop ups aren't getting it done.

Sometimes its called for. If you play a pitcher known for first pitch fastball strikes, you take advantage.

That's what was so great about those 2009-2010 teams at the plate. Those guys ate up pitching counts early and got into the bullpen into the 5th and 6th innings. Even when we weren't getting on base, we were having good at bats

Just because it is a fastball and a strike doesn't mean it's a good pitch to hit.

Nobody has a plan when they get to the plate except to swing at the first pitch that looks decent.

I'm impressed that you have actually seen the game plans.
