I'm getting sick of our hitters swinging at the first pitch so often

3 first pitch outs
17 pitches
Includes a 4 pitch walk.
6 outs in 13 pitches.

Paul is the most impatient coach in the country.

Radio show this morning quoted CPM as saying the team was not aggressive enough at the plate last night. Does that translate into first pitch swings?

I feel like we're watching our program crumble infront of our eyes.

If it's YOUR PITCH?
Swing at it.
How many of them are their pitches?
Probably not many.
The great Ted Williams said if you have less than two strikes, never swing at a pitch just because it's a strike. With less than two strikes, only swing at your pitch. With two strikes, you obviously have to protect.

If anything, they were too aggressive outside of Deichmann.

First pitch is often the best pitch you will see. Pitchers wanna start with a strike.

This isn't high school. That's not how it works at this level.

I know I'm going to get slammed for this. It is a disgrace to the game the way our players approach an at bat. Nobody has a plan when they get to the plate except to swing at the first pitch that looks decent. You would think someone would maybe notice how bad our pitch selection is. A smart coach wouldn't let anyone take the bat off of the shoulder until after the first pitch until our hitters could prove that they have some sort of plate discipline.
And for those that are saying, "look at that! Two first pitch hits!" You don't know much about baseball. We don't have professional hitters in our lineup.

It was just one first pitch hit. Hit and Run called too.

All the hit and runs and steals that are being called are killing us. We've run ourselves out of potential run producing innings a lot this year.
