Play calling was not good. Twice we had the ball at mid field in the 4 qtr and reverted to run, run pass.

Anytime we run Curry sideways behind the LOS is not a good play call.

Play calling was good in spots. Definitely got worse as the game aged. Those back to back 3 and outs in the fourth quarter were the worst play calls in the game.

Calling four yard outs on 3rd and 7 is frustrating.

Sure, because everyone knows FLA will give up the first down yardage through the air - especially with inexperienced LSU players. Completing the short passes with the talent we have to race for the first down is a great approach. Execution can always be improved on.
it wasn't the play calling

That's not how play calling works. Max has multiple options on every play. He chose to throw to certain receivers, because they were the only ones open or he missed other open receivers, or pressure forced an early throw, etc.

Max played like a warrior last night. His inexperience showed at times, and there were a lot of drops.

Considering the personnel, the weather and the situation, they play calling was fine.

He started off the game with some pretty good calls and used Johnson's feet well, but then things got progressively worse. However we did take some shots and had a nice little running play in the red zone that was different and involved a decent fake to freeze the D a little. Once the top two RBs got hurt, we didn't have a lot we could do, but I'm glad we got the W. At least he figured out when to run the QB sneaks this week.

He does call a good game every now and then. This was one of them.

The play calling was not very good.

With a true freshman quarterback starting his FIRST game..... ON THE ROAD....... Coach E did what he did to put LSU in the best position to win and that also meant for Johnson to NOT be put in a position to turn the ball over and he didn't turn it over. Also, the receivers dropped more than their share of balls last night.

30 points on the road against the #6 ranked Gators, with a true fresman making his first start?

And yet you nitpick with this silliness?

Why dont you nitpick some of the play calling from the great offensive mind of Mullen, who didnt get it done against a depleted young LSU defense.

Anyone down voting this Op's post, needs help.

I believe the Uber conservative play calling falls on O’s shoulders.

Making the switch at QB was brilliant

How was what 10 million other tiger fans could see be considered brilliant. Just think how comfortable max would be if they let him just start a few games instead of this carousel.

Give it up dude. This is the Rant. Once the baws on the Rant decide that a coach must go, that's the end of the discussion.

After all, they honed their skills on X Box and perfected their coaching acumen on Madden.

Being anti-coach (any coach) is a fool-proof plan, because virtually all coaches fail in the end. Few have staying power.

So if you are anti-coach, you are almost always eventually proven right.

So many drops last night from the boys. It looked like a make shift unit at times, but everyone did their job and Boutte and Jenkins made some big plays. Johnson put pressure on Florida’s front with his legs.

Are you NUTS? Constantly running Curry wide and run, run, pass is not at all imaginative.

Not to mention pitiful hurry up and call time out when you have the D in its heels. E is not good, but Linehan is putrid. He should be the first to go.

Be careful. The haters don’t like giving coach E any credit.

Oh, the future pass rush was on display last night, his name is Jacquelin Roy. He had 2 sacks and deserves more playing time because he’s the best DL LSU has. Hats off to that young man.

They were double teaming him by the second half.

I love CSE but he’s not good. It’s obvious times have passed him by. The entire offensive staff needs to be overhauled. Woodward needs to shut down the retread hiring that O is doing.
