Florida's DL is as great as any team.

Usually this is true, but this season Florida's defensive front is very soft.

Don't know why so many DV, it's a true statement. Look at the atm game for reference, as well.

Not defending emsminger here, but it's shocking how many fans think you can just run the same plays you ran with Burrow or Brennan with a true freshman QB.

We are LSU and any decent QB or top 10 QB coming to a major Div 1 program like LSU should be able to throw the ball anywhere downfield.

Other schools have freshmen start and light it up. Why does LSU's freshmen always need time and in Brennan's case need 3-4 years. I call bullshite!

IF you have a offense system that works great, like our last year, you teach that system and those plays to your young QB's. Now, some QB's might have a different skill set but then why did you draft them (cough cough Les Miles).

I will show you a few QB's who came in and ran their coach's system rather good as Freshmen and Redshirt Freshmen:

Dan Marino- Pitt 1979
Eric Zeir- Georgia 1991
Tommy Frazier- Nebraska 1992
Peyton Manning- Tenn 1994
Sam Bradford- Oklahoma 2007 (Heisman 2008)

But much more recently to refute your dumb comment that a freshmen cannot throw the ball down the field from the same plays Burrow and Brennan ran... Why? OL block, Receiver go deep, QB throw them the ball!! Like 90% of QB's threw bombs in high school... But LSU needs to put training wheels on their QB and throw 2 yard outs.. oh ok

Johhny Manziel- 2012 Heisman
Jameis Winston- 2013 Heisman (redshirt Freshmen Year)

But our 6'5" 220 pound QB needs baby plays to run because he is a freshman at LSU and cannot possibly throw downfield

Wasn't ERicks injured?

He came back in later. Someone said he put a brace on his shoulder and returned to the fight.

He had surgery prior to his entry to LSU. He was out for Spring ball even before covid.

The play calling was better. Not good. Our last offensive drive was horribly managed. Hell our last 3 offensive drives were pretty bad.

It's not personal on Ensminger

We just need an innovative O Coordinator

You don’t know shite about football. A few examples of elite freshmen from the last 40 years proves nothing. 99% of the time, you can’t expect a true freshman to do what a seasoned upperclassman can do at that position.

The Saints don’t even run the same plays with Taysom Hill than they do with Drew Brees.

One decent, not good, decent game and the amount of people who forget we were almost shut out against auburn and Texas Am is astounding. Not to mention our 10% third down conversion rate against Mizzou and State.

How fricking dense are you? Do you not remember 2018 to 2019? 2019 is a real offensive coordinator. 2018 is E at his peak

LSU’s last few series were awful and if it weren’t for the shoe, the loss would have been squarely on Steve’s shoulders.

Yes

He dialed up back to back runs for a walk on RB. What were you watching?
I can't fault him on this too much.
Price and Emery were out, I suspect Emery has a dislocated shoulder.
Curry was gassed. He HAD to come out for awhile. So you take the chance of A) throwing it when the team thinks you will, B) running your freshman QB, or C) running a "walk-on" that was probably still D-1 caliber, and that the other team likely didn't think you'd run. While your O Line was playing well.

I liked Ensminger's game plan, and I think he handled the in-game attrition ok.

What infuriated me was that he froze up on the goal line on the first series of the 2nd half, and choked bigtime at the end of the game.

In the first instance, he wasn't decisive enough, and it cost us a TD.
The end of the game, he couldn't decide if they wanted to milk clock, or move the ball closer... so instead they did neither. And THAT could have cost us the game.
