He has 14 bb in 13 starts. He was babied in pre conf and could have easily went into the 7-8th in most of those games. I don’t ever down vote but these are bad takes sammy

The Pirates already have a pretty good center fielder.

Suwinski is not stopping them from taking Crews. Their talent level is not even close

The only start he didn’t go at least 6 innings this year was the rain-shortened start against USCe

You do realize that the average number of innings pitched and the quality of the pitcher is different, right?

OF are a dime a dozen
Pitchers throwing 100 and holding thru game is rare

That’s right but I thought they could pick and trade the pick to avoid the salary hit for that slot?

Have to sign the pick (and take the "salary hit") before a player can be traded. Remember that the bonus pool (better, more accurate term) is use it or lose it for the first 10 rounds. MLB teams cannot trade a player that is not under contract.

Crews Everyday players just have more team value.

This is why it will be Crews. They will get 162+ games with Crews vs maybe 32 -34 with Skenes.

Pirates may trade back or pray Crews keeps sliding.
They are cheap
I doubt it. They'll draft and develop either of them, then they'll trade them during the final year of their initial contract, after they've become an all star.

Who represents Skenes?
Crews is represented by Scott Boras and he’s hard to negotiate with. That might make a difference to the Pirates.

Crews. No doubt. He has been in a slump lately. However, one must consider he is an everyday player.

I would Consider the 7th 8th late in a game

More often than not he’s at 100+ pitches in the 6th

That’s a fact.

He had 98 pitches in the 6th against Western Michigan and 94 vs Kansas State.

Skenes, I love Crews and no doubt he one of the absolute Best to come through LSU, but there will be another Crews. Maybe not as good but there’s one every couple years somewhere. There hasn’t been a Paul Skenes since Straus or even at LSU s Ben Mac , buts that’s 10 & 30 years since a Paul Skenes has come through the draft. I’m not in anyway discounting Crews is Top 5 ever at LSU, but Paul is a rare commodity.
