Probably been discussed on here several times already. But if we beat Texas A&M, is there a chance we turn down the bowl, or will we 100% accept it?

Accept. You get up to 12 practices for a bowl. You get 15 in the spring. Valuable way for young guys to get reps.

I would normally agree with this. But with a lame duck staff that will all be gone immediately after the game? Meh

That said, I highly doubt we'd turn down an invitation

Practices are clutch for next year. Also get to see who sits out of them for the writing on the wall...

Exactly, as long as the meathead isn't coaching you take the bowl. If he is on the sidelines, decline. Sooner he's out the door the better. Football teams improves the second he leaves the football building.

Why is this even a question? Of course it's yes. This ain't La Tech.

They would absolutely accept it. They’re going to want the extra revenue to pay Lincoln Riley.

Absolutely accept it. The players will have won 6 games and earned it if it’s offered. Extra practice can’t hurt, and the players have a good time with the festivities and swag that comes with a bowl. It would be childish to turn it down.

Unless we're going to turn it down (like last year) as a "Self Imposed" bowl ban to satiate the NCAA in case they come after our football program.

Other than that, we take the bowl and the extra practices that come with it (along with the players getting a bowl swag bag for their enjoyment).

One one hand, it's important to get those extra practices in.

On the other hand, we can self-ban like last year and it may help with the "issues" going forward.

I'm not sure how the bowl game revenue sharing is handled when a team declines an invite or self-bans.

Not necessarily. The new HC could come in and get acquainted with the position coaches. Then he could make a valid decision if he wants to keep any of them.

Would leave it up to the upperclassmen

It would make sense to be like “nah we’re good” so O doesn’t have to hang around an additional 3-4 weeks
