I would say hit the road if he was at LSU. Other things can be in a gray area, but gambling is black & white. You just can't cross that line.

Only difference is Tech has absolutely zero contingency at QB, whereas we were smart enough to get a quality backup.

Dude, we win a NC and still don’t have 90% support on TD. This cesspool actually hates certain programs, players, and their own Tigers.

I think some would defend him like you are saying, but we wouldn’t be in as bad of a spot because we could get behind longstreeet. So I could see a lot of lsu fans get behind him.

If LSU had landed Sorsby and this went down the only thing I can guarantee is the Rant would be melting

We dodged a bullet

if this was accurate, it isn't, that percentage will drastically go down in the next few weeks with all the bad press they are getting. when opposing fanbases and AD's are for cancelling games with your team bc of what is a should be inelligble player your defense of the guy will change. I saw their backup play some last year and would definitely be like frick Sorsby if I was a TT fan.

I constantly read posters on here saying that they like being hated. I know I don't like it, and I wouldn't want this controversy, but I wouldn't assume that adding another reason to hate us would garner majority disapproval by the rant.

I don't know the details of his gambling, but if he was gambling to lose on his own games, then I would be pissed as a fan. If he gambled that they would win, then I would be far less pissed. If he gambled on other games that he couldn't control, then I'm not pissed at all. Gambling is hugely popular, and the question of integrity only comes into play when a player isn't giving full effort in order to win a bet, which would become the question if he bets the team will lose.

He was. Along with betting on hot dog eating contests and obscure sports.

I find it interesting that so many disagree with OP. It's easy to say "he cheated, I would never support him" when he is not your starting QB brought in. I think many on here have integrity and probably wouldn't support him. But, MANY on here (and probably the vast majority) would be defending him and talking about "everyone hates LSU", "this is a hit at Lane"....so forth and so on. I agree with OP. If the shoe were on our foot the conversation would be different

I have never been good with kids betting on sports especially their own team. Thats a red flag.

I don't care about any of the NCAA's rules.... but they're still the rules. Why bother having any?

It's one thing to play around with eligibility stuff because the NCAA opened that can of worms during COVID. I don't love that Chambliss is somehow still eligible, but it is what it is. This is an entirely different animal though. It's a known rule with no gray area at all.....don't bet. He did and has admitted guilt; he shouldn't be allowed to play.

If they were enforceable they wouldn't take so many Ls in court

Basically universities want the protection that collectively bargain contract would being but they don't want to collectively bargin

They made this bed and shite the sheets

I would be upset in the situation we would be put in but in no way would I defend this. I love LSU football but have a deeper love for college football. While I always want LSU to do well without the integrity of the game there is no college football. There is a reason there is no one speaking out on his behalf. Every one agrees this is a terrible precident being set and harms college football. Im not one to dramatize things but this really feels like the beginning of the end of college football.

I wouldn't care. LSU plays in the SEC where it is blatantly obvious games are being rigged. If the players can make money off of it too, so be it.

I healthy portion of LSUs fanbase doesn’t understand why ole miss fans are so upset with the whole Kiffin situation

Of course they’d be blind to the sorsby shite

Not the same situation, but look at how this board and LSU fans in general treated the Lane Kiffin situation. I’m happy we have him, but there’s no way you can tell me that this board wouldn’t go scorched earth if the roles were reversed and Ole Miss did that to us.

This board would absolutely defend the Sorsby situation if he was slated to be our starting QB.

In saying all that, frick Ole Miss

as i understand it he idn't bet his team would lose. he may have bet the unders in some games but he wasn't even playing. Why risk playing a guy when at some point, probably after the season, the NCAA will win the appeal and all the games will be forfeited. Every game he plays there will be a black cloud and stigma attached to it by all opposing fans. I personally wouldn't want the scrutiny as a fan.

Other schools were pursuing those same players. It's pretty trashy, but its also currently allowed.

Someone gambling on his own team, that's always been explicitly not allowed
