If sec assesses any penalties on Lane or LSU does that trigger LA court contempt?

I would think they are clearly not putting any punishments towards rostering the players as they never did. They are making up the lack of control by the actions of how we began to pursue them to try and punish. don't think that would fall under the LA court. that was more about punishing for rostering and/or playing the players.

We will just get a TRO if they try to punish us.

Lane will not be punished because he followed the rules. What they may try to go after is a fine because of LOIC. Hit I do not believe they want to drag this out any further.

We will see

It’s already in the TRO…

The meeting was scheduled, threat made, and even a lawsuit seeking pretextual relief filed before the SEC ever claimed LOIC.

They moved the goalposts out of nowhere, and their evidence of LOIC is comments at halftime from Kiffin & the LSU president dancing with his wife.

We would treat this as retaliation and would argue it is in scope of the injunction… Would be a pretty easy argument to win given the timeline of events.

So… half of me hopes they try it.

But they do. That is why they were asking for Federal protection from the Jorden PI

Speaking of....that judge told the sec he has a big gun and if the sec felt foggy, jump. Well, they jumped. Havent heard a croak from him yet.

The SEC could likely be held in contempt for violating the TRO. Part of their federal suit was an attempt to get around the TRO in state court.

The SEC is probably going to have to pay those two players a nice settlement.

Penalize for what? A policy that was written after the fact . Doesn't work that way. If they want such latitude then 'take your whipping, grandfather the alleged offenders and go from there' Impossible to break the non-existant but if one is foolish enough to try, better hope somebody is tending to Pandora's Box

Likewise for those who have run their mouths...UTennessee, Ole Miss, UTexas, 8&4.....

Keep a few things in mind:

1. Judge William Jorden will determine if the SEC's actions violate his Preliminary Injunction. He does NOT seem at all interested in countenancing the SEC's shenanigans;

2. The SEC's Amended Complaint was based on, and filled with, allegations concerning the 19th JDC litigation, TRO, and Preliminary Injunction;

3. The SEC filed its Amended Complaint so that it could have today's meeting to determine sanctions against LSU and Kiffin; and

4. Judge Jordan's TRO and Preliminary Injunction were attached to the SEC's Motion for Preliminary Injunction filed in the USDC for the N.D. Alabama.

It seems pretty clear to me that any actions the SEC takes today against LSU or Kiffin are directly related to the 19th JDC litigation and probably in violation of the Judge Jordan's Preliminary Injunction.

The question is what will he do?

The players won the battle at the TRO hearing last week, it’s now an injunction with consequences for punishing LSU for rostering. We’ll see if the SEC want to push that interpretation for punishment by extrapolating to “hurt feelings”.

It seems like our LA congress officials got to the SEC. This meeting has been over for hours with nary a peep from its favorite puppet Delly.

I don't think Judge Jordan will have the opportunity to hammer the SEC because I don't think the SEC is stupid enough to tempt Judge Jordan by penalizing LSU or Kiffin today.

Not the way I see it.
That case was telling the SEC these guys can play.

What the SEC filed and what this meeting is about is "LSU has lost institutional control" based on the way Lane handled things in the press. This wouldn't be contempt because it is a different matter.

According to Jaques Doucet, it hasn't even started yet.
