No reason to try to make Chris Peterson say no. He is a Pacific Northwest lifer.
Bring in Leach. He likes pirates...Louisiana has more than Washington. It's that simple.

Morris from SMU is a good choice. With all the buyouts it's
Gonna have to be an unproven coach imo. Not that Morris is but he isn't a P5 experienced coach and he's offensive minded. Lsu fans are desperate for offensive product to improve which would help a lot as far as patience. If we saw an entertaining modern offense we could stomach a few losses during a rebuilding process

Jimbo's ship has disappeared from the horizon plus his buyout is insane, a cool $45 mil. A gigantic amount TAF/BOS would flatly refuse to pay along with two buyouts for Les and O.
Offer money talk with PJ Fleck. His buyout is only $3.5 mil and who know he could jump ship after only a year.

Thats the reason it can't be imo. Can't risk adding another.

Gundy did want Brennan.
Man so many of these coaches would be exciting here.

Why do ppl just assume that Gundy is looking to leave OK State? It's his alma mater
Posted on 10/2/17 at 1:05 am to AFistfulof$
Gundy has an extremely safe and secure job at OK State. The same thing with Patterson at TCU. If the A&M job is open Chad Morris is going there since he went to school at A&M. Fleck isn't going to leave Minnesota after 1 year. If LSU cans coach O they are going to have to take a risk on a lesser named coach most likely. Or somehow get Chip Kelly which would be crazy.

Really intrigued by Durkin

Jimbo's never coming here. He'll retire at FSU.
Dont be so sure. He and Aleva didnt mesh. Get rid of JA and this could be interesting.

If LSU is paying off 2 coaches and all their assistants there's no way LSU can outbid FSU for Jimbo. If LSU is looking to spend crazy amounts of money I'd rather go after chip kelly. The Jimbo ship has sailed.

O will be the head coach at LSU for another 10 to 15 years and I will enjoy watching you and your incompetent ilks moaning and groaning the entire time.
Our problem is not coaching. Coach O has two of the best coordinators in the country working for him and they didn't all of a sudden forget how to coach.. That's ridiculous.
The problem we have this season is because of recruiting and you can't blame that on a head coach who hasn't been the head coach for even a year yet.
Indeed, if Miles was still here this season the problems we have been experiencing would have appeared under him too.
In fact, we lost five players from defense at the end of last season to the NFL, and we replaced those five players with five new players for this season. However, those five new players aren't anywhere nearly as good as the players they replaced. Which is why our defense this season can't stop anyone.
In the past, we always relied on the defense to keep us in games because Les Miles' offenses were always so weak and anemic. However, this season our defense can't stop no one and stinks to high heaven, and that means fewer opportunities on offense and deeper and deeper holes to climb out of.
The problems we have aren't because Dave Aranda and Matt Canada suddenly forgot how to coach. The problems we have is because recruiting has screwed the pooch and you can't blame that on a person who has been the head coach for less than a year, unless you are a retard. However, you can blame that problem correctly on his predecessor Les Miles.
Indeed, like I said, if he were still here today the same exact problems we are experiencing would have shown up on his watch. Again LSU waited too long to fire Les Miles.

First off I do not think there is any way Orgeron gets fired at the end of this year if Alleva is still the AD.
But hypothetically if Alleva does fire him, LSU would be in a very tough position to hire another Power 5 coach and pay the remaining two buyouts.
Objectively LSU as a job is not in an way going to lure a coach from another school with any kind of success.
I have seen Fuente mentioned but he just signed an extension through 2023, Mullen through 2021, Chryst 2022, Brohm 2021, Patterson 2022, Fleck 2022, Whittingham 2020.
LSU simply would not have the money in my opinion. Even if they get donors to pony up why would any coach anywhere else with any kind of success leave their job to come to Baton Rouge after seeing two coaches get canned.
I would love Chip Kelly and I think he would do great here. His "deficiencies" in recruiting mainly the fact he just hates it, would be a natural fit at LSU with our tradition in the state. I just do not think he would be too keen on the job itself. Money would also be an issue.
No shot Stoops comes out of retirement for anything resembling a rebuild, and money would be an issue.
Gundy would be my choice, we have a QB he wanted badly, and there is young talent on both sides of the ball.
Fedora would be my second choice given our option and who would take the job. But he is very shady.
Veneables would also be a very realistic option and a good choice, but has zero head coaching experience.

I really don't want Aranda to be available when Saban retires. If he took over for Bama after Saban and was successful I would just be sick to my stomach.
I say we take Aranda.

Interesting we would just roll with a guy with zero head coaching experience.
