Last year we still beat UW by 40.

Nope but if I am watching game and see Jefferson throwing 35+ times I am not going to think of it as a good sign. Especially against an undermanned Washington team that lacks depth talent across the board.

While they do have more talent than say Appy State, North Texas, ULL they are still unprepared for LSU.

If you did, you would find a Washington team about to go 0-12.

Plus, as was mentioned somewhere else in this thread, we play USC every year.

And how does that work out for you?

Tebow may be a better passer, but Jake is much more agile when he runs, and perhaps a bit faster. That is why I feel he is one of the best dual threats in the nation.
They are different types of runners. Tebow is a bruiser. And Tebow is a better runner than Locker on any given minute of any given hour of any given day.

You're either:

A) Full of shite

B) Jake Locker

C) Clinically insane

or

D) 14

Exactly Noonan! The LSU fans said the same thing about Lee and Hatchet last year. The truth is, you need solid, consistent, and sometimes, good QB play. Jefferson is still raw, and make no mistake, he will be tested this Saturday night, and not just by our defense.

I'm not so arrogant to think that UW won't give LSU a good game, but if you exclude the QB position, LSU is absolutely stacked with experienced, top-notch talent.

If this game is in question after the half, I think LSU pulls away in the 3rd and 4th quarter just based on depth alone. Locker is a stud, no doubt, but his playmaking options will be severely limited if his O-Line is out of steam.

Best of Luck to both teams!

Jefferson should not even have to throw the ball 20 times for LSU to win this one. Scott, Williams, and Co should have 200-300 rushing yards in this game.

I agree. If Jefferson for some reason has to throw 25-30 passes, that's probably a sign we're in trouble. I'd expect him to throw maybe 15-16 times max, and basically let Scott, KW, Holliday, Shep and the others run behind our big OL. A bad game by Jefferson is one of UW's slender threads of hope, but in the end, I don't he'll be put in a position where that could happen.

i think we are going to win big, but those comments were exactly what people were saying last year.

i just don't want to be blind sided by some of the struggles.

I certainly feel this is within our reach. I believe, as I have said before, we will be within single digits going into the 4th quarter.

He may have to take a biology quiz at the half...

The intangibles - atmosphere, pressure, new stadium, 4 hour plane trip, etc.

It is a road game after all, as well as the first game of the year.
