Please wait until after Bama game for this kind of talk.

I know it’s tempting but just no.

It would certainly tie him with Billy Canon.

Burrow's season proves how profoundly a great OC can improve a QB's performance. JB had 16 td passes last year.
I'm not knocking Joe, I'm just praying Kirby wakes up before next season.

You dont think he is already the greatest QB? I mean he broke the passing TD record with 4 regular season games left.

Burrow's phenomenal, and is up there among the very best Tigers of all time.

But his records are also a function of the offense he's running. If Bert Jones, Hodson, Davey, or Russell were in this offense, each of them would have huge numbers too.

And this is in no way a shot at Burrow. He's in the pantheon of Tiger greats. But we've got to take it all in context.

So you just disqualified Tyrann Mathieu from the discussion, genius.

Let's wait and see what happens the rest of the season, but if he wins the HT and makes the playoffs, he will and should have his name inside Tiger Stadium with Cannon, Stovall and Casanova AND get his own statue. Heisman winners deserve that, and I hope he doesn't have to wait 50-something years for it.

As for being the greatest Tiger, it will be a good discussion, but some will probably argue that the greats who were at LSU their whole careers deserve the nod for a career of excellence. However, there is no doubt his will be the greatest season in LSU history with arguments for Ty Mathieu's IMO.

For now, there are some names that deserve consideration inside the stadium: Bert Jones, Charlie Alexander, Dalton, Hodson, Faulk, Charlie McClendon, (probably a few others) and that's just before 2000.

If the Patriots give up half their draft to get Burrow, then he's the Tiger GOAT.

Everybody else...

If how wins the heisman and a natty I'll move him to #2.

Honey badger had 2 full years of the most unreal performances I've even seen on a football field.

He's already going to break every single season record for a LSU QB. If he goes undefeated, win the Heisman, and the NCG, there is no other player in LSU's football history with as many accomplishments in a single year. If he just averages 300 more pass yards and 2 more TDs per game over the next 7 games (that means he plays in 15), he'll finish;

1st in total TDs for a season and all time
1st in total yards for a season and all time
1st for yards per attempt for a season and all time
1st in cmp percentage for a season and all time
1st in passing yards for a season 2nd all time
1st in passing TDs for a season 2nd all time

In addition to the Heisman, he's going to win several QB awards as well.

Every time I see a post with "EVER" in it all I can think of is youth and immaturity...

If Burrow could somehow return a punt over 90 yards for a TD against Alabama, and then stop Alabama on Defense on what would be a go ahead TD, then he and Billy Cannon would be the top Tigers.

But seriously, it’s 2019 so what he would realistically have to do is dismantle Alabama. That means no interceptions, smart play including taking a sack if need be, and running lights out, yes I think that guy should win a Heisman and go down as great as Billy Cannon. But key here is we have to beat Bama (and or win a National Championship)
