Someone please bronze this thread for posterity.

This one thread neatly summarizes all the idiocy this site is known for in one compact nugget.

One game in and the starter is the sorriest noodle-armed coward ever to lace em up for the Tigers. One of the backups is a nuclear physicist and the other is a better looking reincarnation of Steve Young. But we're not sure which is which, but my nephew's hair-dresser's cousin has an inside source at practice and by God you better believe it!!

Why guess when we have coaches who know? Sometime this year we will have to put a second string QB in if only because Brennan loses a shoe. After that I'll know who the best backup QB is, and I'll tell you.

But if he looks tentative against Vandy, how much more time do you want to give him? We have Missouri after that, but then we get Auburn, Florida, and Bama 3 of our next 4 games. If Brennan's not the answer, I'd rather identify that early and put in one of the freshmen and get them experience for next year.

I believe that it is Johnson without a doubt. He is a very polished player, where Finley is a project and needs work in several areas, but has tremendous upside and is a very hard worker.

Stingley should be the next man up at QB for sure.

Remember when true freshman Brandon Harris got his first start at Auburn in 2014?
Harris was a head case.

True freshmen QBs start all over the country, and play very well.

He won’t the rant already concluded that he’s an elite QB did you check the box score 340 yards in 46 attempts

Neither. Brennan is the starter and you let him fight through adversity this year and give him a legitimate shot to get it figured out.

The last thing we need is for him to get yanked a few games into this FUBAR season which kills all confidence in him just to put a younger, more inexperienced QB in there to face Florida, Bama, AU, and aTm in his first few starts.

Miles is the guy this year. The game will slow down as he gets more experience. He needs to play to get better.

that's ok for a middle school team, but this is SEC football. You don't sacrifice a season just to let a guy "figure it out." He's in his fourth year and his second year in this offense. He should've been ready to rock, and it's not like we opened against a top 10 team - it was Miss State.

If Brennan's not the answer (let's see how he does against Vandy, and perhaps then Missouri), let's move on.

Like anybody posting here knows the answer to this question. What can you base an answer on? High school film? What Coach O has said about each of them? What most people are complaining about Brennan are intangibles. How are Johnson and Finley's intangibles?

Hey, taking his best player and sticking him under center no matter what kept Houston Nutt in an SEC job for a decade.

I've wondered if there are plays, such third or fourth and short, or goal line situations, if there are practice plays with Johnson running the offense.
He is bigger, stronger, and a better runner, according to reports.

I agree. However, I think Finley has come a long way since arriving on campus. First couple of workout videos, he was missing the target on his oasses. The recent videos, he throws a beautiful spiral and it appears to be on target.
We never know what will happen. Look at Trask at Florida.

Brennan didn't give up 600+ yards passing. MSU outscored us with a passing attack that we could not handle on DEFENSE. Myles wasn't playing corner was he?
He will be fine with some game experience.
No need for backup talk this early.

I absolutely think MB will improve and settle in as the season progresses. That said, it was obvious in the Miss St game that MB was uncomfortable, inconsistent, indecisive and just overall didn’t play that well.

By no means does that mean he should be benched at this point or we should be panicking, but anyone that watched that game could see that level of QB play is not gonna get us where we all want to go. He has to get better...And I think he will.
