It’s not when the defender simply lands on the QB that makes the rule the rule as stated is when the defender drives the QB to ground using the full weight of his body! This rule was put in place as players safety

It's a shame because the Ginger Greg Man is actually very good on color. I like him 10 times more than Gary. McElroy is a Bama guy and less of a Bama homer than Danielson.

Same, but he was being overly dramatic over that.

What was controversial? Text book roughing

Their was nothing wrong with the call itself. It is the rule that most ppl have a issue with. The rule of the it being a penalty if the defender lands on the QB with his full body weight is stupid. The florida player had no control over that he was already committed when Daniels threw the ball. Again the issue wasn't that call because it was applied correctly. The issue is the rule itself, the way it is written.

Gonna have to disagree the Florida player charges wraps up, takes 2 step with JD in bear hug, when they land he still has him “hugged”. He could easily put his hands down not had all the weight on QB. Not to be out done he jumps up and flexes his muscles screaming as if he had just won World championship. So ya that gonna get called.

He said 30 yard penalty because he thought there was a face mask on the tackle that would be added to the 15 yarder by ward

IMO Tessitore was way worse. Especially how he just could NOT stop talking about Tom Petty night. Annoying af.

When he started in TV, I didn’t really care for him just because of my natural Bama bias. But as time has gone on, he doesn’t really bother me. Honestly, when him and Joe T are on the call for any game, I think they do a good job.

Last night, Jay did hit Richardson low. It was a good call. McElroy went on a bit but he’s a former QB so it’s expected. These former players will go off when guys get hit in the sides of the legs/knees and I don’t have a problem with it. If anything, I appreciate their emotion. If a Florida player hit Daniel’s low like that, he’d have said the exact same thing.

Either way, if we have to I give up that call for the ones that did go our way, I’ll take it.

I'm not one to nitpick this stuff, but I felt his LSU hate leaking through. It wasn't overly blatant, but I felt it.

Also said the Jay Ward play should have been a 30 yard penalty

that was a stupid, but not unexpected, comment from a former qb,

What pissed me off was he didn’t even watch the replay close enough to know Ward stumbled into the tackle

Those plays should be reviewed for possible ejection they are just as dangerous as targeting

I don't think that particular hit was as bad as portrayed by the announcers, we are definitely in the pendulum's full swing of the woke era of over protection of the qb
