Well, he did quit on his team during a playoff run.
However, he did it because of the damn schedule. If this was like 2004 when Saban left, he could have coached all the way through January, changed jobs, and kept recruiting in place.
Unfortunately, it's a bit much to expect our ADD sports fans to get that little nuance .

What exactly do you call what he did to the Ole Miss team? I call it quitting on them while they were playing for a championship, and I think we are fooling ourselves if we think it doesn’t matter.
Yes, the players are prioritizing money, but do you really want to be in a position where every offer you make has to outweigh the negatives of what other coaches can legitimately say about Kiffin?
We aren’t the only ones offering money, and recruits are still going to factor in things besides money, when every program is throwing money at them.

I believe those who are really well informed now that Kiffin did not quit on his team.
I hope it has not negatively affected LSU, and perhaps we'll see what happens in a few months when we get a good look at how the transfer portal players look and down the road, if they can work effectively as a team.
