I was wondering the same thing. What makes him a modern day offensive guru?

I mean, he's not an OC. This is not equivalent to hiring a new OC. But this is still a positive.

THats an old article. Did you even read my post?

According to him he’s separated from whatever they had a problem with. His words were he was ready to be hired

This is a good thing. He has experience. And I think he ran a QB camp or something. He'd be great to have.

I hope it is a good thing. But if running a QB camp is what makes him a hot commodity, someone needs to get Trent Dilfer on the phone. Dude has been the head coach at the Elite 11 for several years, and we all know the pedigree that place holds.

He wants to coach QBs. That’s his forte first & foremost. But he says he could help the offense move forward.

I’m not speaking about how good he is. Just thought it was interesting.

I don't know much about the guy. If he comes here, I hope he helps. But, didn't we hire a WR guru for this season? How have our WRs looked this year?

I don't know that he is. But he can bring in good things to our program. He's a pro QB with experience. Having him as an analyst would be great. But expecting this to be equivalent to hiring a new OC is asking too much. He is an asset to our staff, though.

If you have a well respected offensive guy in the building, they are going to listen

I don't doubt they'll value his knowledge and influence.

I just question how much impact a single analyst can have on moving a offense from 103rd to top 50 or wherever you're envisioning we improve to.

My first reaction as well, but to be fair I doubt he's gonna go on a podcast and badmouth the guy who might be his potential boss.

I'd much rather a new OC, but if O is gonna stick with E we're gonna need all the help we can get.

I just know Salisbury as a former NFL QB and ESPN analyst. Is he some kind of genie when it comes to coaching? I see on google he got offered to coach QB's for Arizona years ago. Does he have any coaching experience that makes him such a hot commodity?
He has been running a QB Camp the past few years which is why he was unable to come to LSU this past season.

I don't disagree. And I'll be fine with it as long as it works. But it's only going to work as far as the Oline can keep the QB on his feet. That's not something he can help with. That is the main issue LSU has, and has had for the last several years of Miles' tenure till now. And the defensive line as well.

No. But he mentioned both analyst or QB coach type role. Analyst can’t be hands on either if I recall

Not trolling, but why do people think he'll be a good analyst? I don't see any coaching experience on his wiki. What am I missing?

eta: nvm, see he runs a QB camp

Such a genius Bama running zone completely flabbergasted him. Tells me once the analysts scriot runs out, Steve has shite. Last week he couldn’t even use those because Bama tweaking the D tossed those out

Steve has been awful at making adjustments once the D figures him out this year. I have no doubt the guy knows football but he’s overmatched as an OC.

Guys, him calling SE a smart guy was a precursor to him saying his offense sucked, basically. Jesus Christ
