I think Dae’Quan Wright is a bigger difference maker than he’s getting credit for

We don’t have a true TE with experience. If we did, different story. But he requires attention which will make Dez even more dangerous. I think Wright gives Lane a whole new world of options

He was the 3rd most effective/productive TE in all of college football last year, behind only Dallen Bentley of Utah (7th round pick in this year's draft) and Peter Clarke of Temple (who is preseason first-team All-American Conference this year).
Dae’Quan Wright is wildly good, and incredibly under-appreciated.

Didn't he go off on us last year when he was at Ole Miss?
The guy is incredibly talented.

Pretty sure he caught the game icing first down pass against us last year.

And he allows Trey’Dez to be even more dangerous

Don’t ignore the impact of Harris at DT. Once healthy he may start. If not, he is a huge run stopper for quality depth. It will allow our freshmen to be worked into the rotation more slowly.

My Ole Miss buddy, who hates Lane, says Wright is a stud.

I think he makes dez even more dangerous, to be honest

He had more receiving yards last year than any LSU tight ends ever had in a season.
Also have seen him line up at h back and lead block effectively... He's serviceable as an inline blocker... He's a HUGE difference maker

I think this is the way lane is looking at it.
Wright and green play two very different roles. We don't have a wright. You don't find many true TEs that can block and catch 40rec for 600yds.
12 personnel on the goalline with these two guys does change the offense.
Could they be very good without him, sure. But having a TE tandem (would be the best on the country BY Far, maybe the best tandem in a decade.) gives you crazy flexibility

Why do have one of these? What do you use it for?

Of course he’s that big of a difference maker. Golding knows that. I don’t have proof just how everything unfolded.
When Ole Miss couldn’t match the offer from LSU “drunk pete” ran to his boy Carter who still felt cucked over the whole Lane situation.
They broke the news about Wright first. It was the tweet about him that started the whole fire storm. Then he got his buddy Byrne to team up and start flipping the SEC AD’s to their side. They gambled LSU would back down.

It might be the best since Iowa had Kittle/Fant and Fant/Hockenson. Oregon has had a couple good TE tandems recently though.
