Recruiting ranking doesn't mean these players will perform well. It is a prediction. How many five star players have bombed and how many low ranking recruits have burned it up?

Look at the other schools that average in the top 5 recruiting ranking average over the last 3 years

I keep hearing about how great the talent is at LSU and how Les Miles is wasting it.

Good talent, even if poorly coached, would have beaten Auburn.

CLM obviously has some issues, but I think a lot of fans are overrating the team's talent.

Our recruiting classes are heavily overweight on "stars" at the skill positions. Since, 2011 we've consistently missed at LB, DL & O-Line. If you recruit elite up front you can win big even if your average in the back.

The OP isn't just wrong, it's factually wrong

LSU will have upwards of 10 players drafted this year. Watch

That's fine and commendable, but what about all the "talent" that is not drafted.

NFL drafts don't correlate to success.

I agree completely. There is talent on the team, but more emphasis needs to be placed on getting talent on the lines.

So Miles can't do anything right after all. Well that's just fantastic.

Oh, yes, we have those great OL talent evaluators in Miles and Grimes, who really know how to coach them up.

Are you new to the board?
You are making the same argument that Dinardo lovers made when he won zero SEC games his final year. When Saban won the National Championship with some of those players, Miles fans claimed that Saban won with Dinardo's talent.

When players don't know their assignments and are out of position to make a play, they appear slow and un athletic.

We see it every game.

I don't know what your purpose for this thread was, but if you thought it was to make you look like you knew what you were talking about, then you failed.......

We returned 18 starters from a 9-3 team last season...

Top 3 recruiting class virtually year after year.

Picked by many experts to win the SEC this season.

No, not enough?

Talent on the oline and interior defensive line is the problem. We have guards playing tackle positions. I think Pocic is in the wrong position also. He's there to read the defense because our quarterbacks can't seem to be taught to do so.

I guess that all the analysts that said LSU should be a Top 5 team and all the draft experts that say LSU has a slew of pro players once again are all wrong.

I suspect your opinion on this matter is highly overrated.

Have to agree with OP. Too many LSU fans read and believe the hype about how much talent LSU has. No harm in that. Problem is we do not have anymore talent than any other top tier program. If you really believe that we have elite skill players, one of us is blind. TE and offensive line are average at best and the quarterback play no more than adequate. Please take an objective look at other rosters in the SEC. They have as much or more talent across-the-board.

And now, Miles is gone. Hopefully, I'm wrong and all this great talent will rise up and do well.

Alot of these young men were 4 and 5 stars coming out of high school. And college analysts are predicting LSU will break Miami's old record of the most players drafted in the first round. So No! The talent is not overrated!!

More players in the NFL than any other team

Most players drafted in the NFL the last 5 years

Set the record 3 years ago for most underclassmen drafted

Our talent is not overrated
