let me explain.
giving up a total of 7 runs in a 3 games series is awesome; we should have won the series or even swept it. both our SPs and RP's did a damn good job, esp on the road in a cold, wet environment.
of course our bats were silent in 2 games. we just didn't have any game hero's in those games. imo, we are a couple of hitters short of a team capable of going deep in the post season. Smith, when he gets up to speed should be one of them. our OF is great and Cabrera is coming around nicely. I am still hoping that Slaughter comes around as we need his power and he's a damn good defensive 3B. Broussard and Hughes are freshmen (should improve) and Reid is what he is. imo, all three of these guys in the lineup at the same time spell inconsistency and little or no power.
the bulk of the SEC schedule is still ahead of us and I think we are going to continue to improve. I have a lot of optimism that we'll end up pretty damn good (esp if our hitting comes around).

Broussard is a junior, but otherwise, I agree.

Broussard is a junior but he has been fine. Duplantis needs to come a round a little bit. He hasn’t been bad but he hasn’t been Duplantis yet. He will eventually.

Apparently you didn't get the Rant message. All is gray and black. Doom is the word of the day. Nothing is encouraging. Matters are spiraling downward.
But then that is how it is practically every day is it?

Not for the baseball team, they’ve never lost a game that mattered per the Rant.

damn, I had no idea. I guess I missed seeing him the last two years.

We lost two of three to the seventh-ranked team in the country at their place, and people bitch. So sad, yet so predictable. Particularly when most of the people bitching truly don't understand baseball even though they think they do.

Well that’s because he was in junior college the last two years

So who’s the better program at this moment?

Well said, I agree with all of it. A little timely hitting and they may have swept Vandy at their place. Pitching is still shaky at times but they are making strides every game and week.

I don't know what you mean by "moment" but LSU is a better program than Vandy. Vandy is a good program but they are a johnny come lately.
and if you are using this 3 games series to say Vandy is a better program I have to agree with a previous poster about some on here that don't know much about baseball.
9 out 10 people that know anything about college baseball know how great of a program LSU is and most of them don't even know vanderbilt is in Tennessee.

At this point last year we lost 2 out of 3 at Florida then came home the next weekend and lost 2 of 3 to A&M and everybody was calling for the season. I’m sure you can remember where we ended up at the end of the season. We didn’t really get rolling last year until the second half of sec play. Give it Time fellas we’ll be alright

I have no issue losing a road series at Vandy

Going into this weekend I thought a 1 out of 3 would be a solid outcome. So I am encouraged by the focus and fight. I did feel like an opportunity to take the series was lost but I’m only disappointed not discouraged. I like this team.

Well I didn't. I saw a team very inconsistent in hitting. That won't get you far
