I know Braswell has earned some grace, but can Pearson or one of our dudes play 3rd?

If needed to continue boosting our lineup I’d consider giving some action at 3rd to some of these guys that can really swing.

Let me know your thoughts?

It took him a while to find it last year. Hopefully he will come around again this year

Braswell was your best SEC hitter last season, and you want to bench him. Our fans are fried.

Braswell will get some rope, and probably always have a significant role. Reaves is clearly the next man up at 3B. I really like the way he swings the bat. He really squared two up last night, but both were outs. I think he ends up at third in at least a split, with Braswell taking over defensively late when he doesn't start. Braswell is better defensively at 3B than Reaves.

I don't think discussing potential options is a terrible thing. The OP didn't come out and flat out say he needs to be benched. Larson was also a top hitter last year in the SEC. He's going to have trouble getting on the field.

Not quite. Larson and Tommy both had a higher BA, SLG %, and OB % in SEC play but he was very good nonetheless.

I agree, he is gonna turn it around. Just curious who else should get run. I’m sure Reaves can play…..but the outfield is logjammed and I’m curious to see if 3rd may be a shot at some reps.

Reaves has played a good bit. And it was at 3B. Why bring the OF into this? Nobody else is cracking into the OF.

That’s the point. The there are too many studs fighting for time out there.

Perhaps they can get some play at 3rd every once in a while.

Yea lets replace a .167 hitter in Braswell with a .188 hitter in Reeves. That adds more punch to the lineup don't you think? Good thing you don't coach you would fail miserably.

I still worry about Reaves defense which is a big reason why I think Braswell will have a long leash. We do seem to have a surplus of outfielders but obviously moving one of them to the infield would mess with Jay's ability to play matchups.

You're citing batting average for two guys on reduced ABs 12 games into the season and you want to say someone else wouldn't be worth a shite as a coach?

After Braswell is Reaves, everyone else that is up has minimal experience....freshman John Pearson, Hogg and Ryan. Reaves scares me with defense. The freshman all have a glove at 3b saw it all fall.

I believe Braswell will get it together. Reaves will come in for matchups.

Right now Tanner Reeves is the next 3rd baseman up, but his BA is not that great either however he has squared up some balls.

I thought John Pearson was the 3rd guy up for 3rd base. I'd like to see that big guy get more swings.

Bras is in a weird spot. We all know he came to LSU as not much of a hitter. Then last year LSU tweaked his swing and he was a very respectable hitter in SEC play. He was one of the leaders at the plate. This year it is looking like he lost what he had.

I know he will continue to get shots and will come around, but he is not seeing the ball good right now. I'm sure the coaches are analyzing the swing to see what happened. I think Bras will get it back at some point and start hitting.

Now I remember why I avoid this board mostly until game time.

What a cesspool of ridiculousness.
