Eventually, you probably will be right. But let's hold off on this after two games.

Season ticket holder for 30 years. Went last night for 1st time this year .I will not compare Wade to Brown after 2 games.
However , this team is 180 degrees different than last year.
This team is unselfish and team oriented. Completely different than last year. Give Wade credit for that. We have an offensive plan, play tough defense, well maybe not so much in 2nd half.
90plus % free throw shooting !!
Wade has the players in excellent shape and holds them accountable.
A refreshing change.
It is a rebuilding year and as long as this team plays with effort, hustles and does not repeat stupid mistakes the fan base will get on board and support them.
Kentucky at home is first SEC game !

Watch out for next year and while you are at it watch the new scoreboard.
Reminds me of Cowboy stadium !!

I dont know if he should be crowned the greatest but i surely like how the hell he transformed Brandon Sampson, Skylar Mays, and Wade Sims game. Those guys looked really improved from where they were last year.

Sorry, but I've allowed myself to become irrationally exuberant about Coach Wade and LSU basketball. I made the same decision about the Saints after the Miami win. I'm confident we'll see the same results with the BB team.

Well if you understood that part of a head coach's responsibility is to motivate and recruit, you would pull your head out of your arse. I'm not hopeful though.

are you seriously saying Dale Brown was not in charge and didn't know what was at stake with the Lester Earl bullshite. Cmon. He left John Brady with absolutely nothing to work with. Brady did more with less in such a short amount of time. Good ole Dale Brown. Dale was also the man who convinced the powers at be to hire Johnny Jones. You see how well that worked out.

Dale's glory years were from 1979-1981.

Disappointing years 1982-85.

Nice job of motivating 1986-1988.

Underachieving with superstars 1989-1993.

Horrible job 1994-1997.

It can't be argued those are the statistics.

That poor 1993-1994 team that went 11-16.

The ugly 1994-1995 team that went 12-15.

The boring 1995-1996 team that went 12-17.

And to finish it off the 10-20 team in 1996-1997.

Dale Brown had a great NBA caliber team and could not win it. Best college team ever assembled!

Dale Brown had some great qualities, but he was a piss poor bench coach.

Dale Brown was not a great Xs and Os guy, but he wasn't a piss poor bench coach either. Johnny Jones and Trent Johnson were piss poor bench coaches. A piss poor bench coach gives a team no motivation or strategy from the bench. Brown had his faults, but he was constantly on guys, in their faces and getting them fired up throughout games to get them to play up to their potential. A significant part of being a good bench coach is constantly communicating with your players in the game and showing a major level of engagement to keep them on their toes.

Wade is an excellent hire and could very well be the best coach LSU has hired. We will see. LSU basketball is exciting again and will get very good very fast in my opinion.

Coached on the level of Johnny Jones though.

Yeah, he went to 12 NCAA tournaments (10 consecutive) and became the 2nd winningest coach in SEC history coaching on the level of Johnny Jones. He definitely had his faults and coaching deficiencies, but there is no comparison there.

I agree with both those statements. However word of caution. I saw Kentucky and Alabama and it would take our very best game to beat either. The SEC is loaded this year and competition will be fierce. That is why you heard CWW moaning about our defense after a good win. He knows that if he can't get them to defend three point shots better we will be blown out of a lot of games despite our skill level increase on offense.

I think the SEC will be improved this year, but UK is the only team that has played anyone. They played well against Kansas, but lost. They haven't looked good at all against their cupcakes and hit 3-15 on free throws the other night against East Tennessee State.

I'm sure the OP was talking about the X's and O's adjustments during the game. The cohesion developing in the young athletes etc...

Let’s pump the brakes on talk like this. I agree that things look good and he has potential. But let’s see a entire season before crown him.
