I want to be clear. I’m not saying we have the basketball equivalent of the 2019 football team but we have a similar situation as 2019 as far as an overhaul of one of side of the ball.
Nationally people still weren’t buying in but after the Georgia state game I knew that offense was different and it didn’t matter who the opponent was.
Similarly I’ve seen plenty of hero ball non defense playing LSU basketball teams. This team is different.

I tend to agree. He doesn’t seem to have the quickness and athleticism teams draft big men for when they take them one year out of college. He can leave after this year, but he probably wouldn’t even see a 2 way contract for a few years.

The players putting in this kind of effort on the defensive end makes it hard to believe they won’t be competing for a conference championship.

Agreed, but dont let tonight fool you, we have some steps up in competition coming. We havent seen the real flaws of this team yet.

It’s too early to tell with weaker competition but in many past years we’d inexplicably lose 1-2 of those OOC early season games. This team is winning them as they should and absolutely dominating, off to a great start I’d say.

Maybe from the guard position, but Murray will only get better. Also, if we keep playing defense like we have, we won’t have to constantly try and outscore teams to win.

I don't get people's obsession with rankings and guessing who's better than who, especially very early in the season.

We saw a big flaw with rebounding during the first half of the Liberty game. There where multiple possessions were Liberty had 2 or 3 chances to score. Even last night McNeese was able to get plenty offensive rebounds because we were out of position.
Most of these non-conference games we will be able to rebound well based on talent alone, but that will change quick once conference play starts. Hopefully we can get the rebounding issues fixed.
Its looking like this team has a real opportunity to make a run at the SEC championship, but our blocking out must improve big time if we’re going to do that.
