Yeah, he had some great throws in that game

Of course it’s not true. But why can’t he throw the ball?

If I am making this up I apologize but my biggest critique from last year is that he would be inaccurate and overthrow 25 yard out patterns and his passes would sail 5 yards over the WR’s head. I simply don’t believe there isn’t something physical knocking his mechanics off - patella strain makes it hard to plant his foot squarely or something. Why on earth didn’t we sit him for SELA??

I think he was all around pretty average last season. The end of the ole miss game and the OU game after he got shot up he looked pretty elite..other than that he was average. As far as making the throws maybe he has the yips or something idk. But that makes more sense to me than our coach rolling out an injured QB incapable of making throws....maybe that's the case though?

So he’s just arse?
The running game is clearly not what it was last year.
When you can get pressure with 3 and drop 8 into coverage, that’s a recipe for disaster for any QB.
He’s certainly not impressive, but I’m just saying that any QB would suffer under those conditions.

So why did Brian Kelly literally say in a press conference that he was dealing with a torso injury?
Reading comprehension and attention spans of the masses is at an all time low. Chicken didn’t say he wasn’t injured in any manner. The fricking title says in bold print “I have been told by someone in the know that the Nuss torn oblique rumor is 100% not true”

Your first sentence is pretty ironic because I wasn’t fricking responding to Chicken. The person that I responded to literally said “he’s not injured”. I even quoted it for you. Maybe you should work on improving your reading comprehension.

Damn that sucks for Nuss because now he should be benched for sucking.
I prefer to believe he’s injured.

I posted on the Scoreboard after the UF game about what I heard from a guy sitting next to me at the game.He was a Tiger alum from around 2002 or so and lived in Austin, TX. First game he had been to since like 05.
During the first half and Nuss was struggling he looked at me and said “you know he has an abdominal tear” and I was flabbergasted. He had little kids with him and he left at halftime before I could dig into this. This was way before BK announced the torso injury.
So for me this scenario has had wheels since game 2.
Edit
I misspoke on which game. LaTech game. I went with different people to UF.

Per Copilot...
"Is it true LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has a torn oblique muscle that requires surgery?
No — there’s no credible report that LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has a torn oblique muscle or that he requires surgery.
What has been confirmed publicly:
Head coach Brian Kelly has acknowledged that Nussmeier has been playing through a torso/upper-body injury since preseason camp.
The injury has been described as tightness or soreness, not a tear, and Kelly has emphasized that it’s being managed with limited practice reps.
More recently, speculation about his performance struggles led to questions about whether the injury was affecting him, but Kelly downplayed it, saying the offense as a whole needs to improve3.
Earlier in August, Kelly also addressed a separate issue — mild patellar tendonitis in his knee — but again stressed it was minor and not a structural tear.
?? Bottom line: Nussmeier is banged up, but there’s no evidence of a torn oblique or surgery. The official word is that he’s managing through discomfort, not facing a season-ending procedure."

BK confirmed some kind of torso injury. Not sure why they didn’t rest him against SLU.
Posted on 9/30/25 at 5:34 pm to Chicken
There is no chance he is playing with a torn oblique. If he was, he would be jeopardizing his professional career.
Posted on 9/30/25 at 5:34 pm to Chicken
Unless whoever told you is lying as well just like BK then goodness gracious this is even worse than if he was actually injured.

Injury is the only reasonable excuse for such a loss in velocity and accuracy. My 9 year old knows that much.
