The NFL is more of a "cerebral" game. If you are not willing to put the time in to learn and study the game, you rarely make it in the NFL.

Amazing that ppl still defend college JR
What does this even mean? Are you saying JR was not a good college player?

Define "better".
For my money, I'd take Matt Flynn any day of the week...and yes, I felt that way during their time at LSU, especially after the 2005 Peach Bowl.

More yards, more TDs, higher completion %, and less turnovers is a decent place to start........
Jmarc '06 - 232-342 67.8% 3,129yds 28TDs 8INT
Flynn '07 - 202-359 56.3% 2,407yds 21TDs 11INT

Thats pretty definitive. I'd love to know how people think we would've done better with Flynn in 06 or how we wouldn't have won a title in 07 with JR.

Both teams lost two games.

Jamarcus had more potential than anyone who has ever played QB at LSU. Once he got all that money, he lacked the work ethic and drive to carry through. Flynn was always a gamer. I am very happy for him. I hope he gets a fat contract with a good team. I hope that his agent deals with a winning program.

Makes you wonder how good Lee is too, but I think Les is right with JJ.

No shite. QB is a leadership position, Flynn is a leader.

He had a lot of things JR didn't.

It's an open question who the better QB would have been in 2007 had Russell stayed, but there is little doubt that Flynn was the better college QB when using average game performance as your metric.

JR was a far better COLLEGE QB tha Flynn. Sorry. JJ had a higher qb rating than Flynn

JR has better receivers in 06. Dwayne Bowe was a monster in 06. 12 tds. Can't compare Bowe, Doucet, and Davis to Doucet (sometimes) Byrd and LaFell.
