I guess LSU holds the lead in a 3 way tie.

Before Ole Miss game ESPN had LSU behind Bama. After Ole Miss makes it a 3 way tie at 4 and 1. They moved Bama to 3rd behind Ole Miss.

So with 3 SEC games left LSU who people thought might win 6 total games is leading the West.

Its a true tie, but it will be broken by head-to-head games. Bama has to play both OMiss and LSU.

It isn't. If you were to apply tiebreaker rules, LSU holds the tiebreaker vs Ole miss currently due to beating them head to head. Bama would also hold the tiebreaker with Ole miss because Ole miss lost a division game but Bama did not.

LSU and Bama are truly tied for the time being.

No prizes given for first place after 8 weeks I’m afraid. We’re gonna have to take it if we want it at the end

Can’t really know how tiebreaker will play out until all teams involved have completed playing each other, so Nov 12th.

Basically, if we beat Bama and don’t screw up vs Arkansas or A&M, we are in regardless.

If we beat Bama, but lose another game, then we need Bama to beat OM the next weekend.

Fun to think about scenarios, but nothing matters if we lose next week.

Edit to fix the OM/A&M error. Meant the two SEC games after Bama.

LSU is in first place.

When 3 teams are tied the first tie-breaker is "Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams"

LSU 1-0
Bama 0-0
Ole Miss 0-1

Not that it means anything yet...

I don’t know what’s more pathetic, that you are proud that you pointed out what everyone knew, or that you use “member” like a 10 year old child.

I just don’t see us beating Bama. They almost beat a team that destroyed us. It’s not quite our year yet. But I think next year with Howard (hopefully) we make Saban our bitch for the rest of his contract.

Special teams and a few breaks, like Jenkins catching an underthrown deep pass, or JD balling out with his legs will win us this game. Keep it to short passes and chip away down the field.

This is the worst post ever. Who gives an actual shite about the technical division lead in October?

That’s not how it works in reality. You can’t ever make comparisons like that. It’s like App State saying they would beat Bama because they handled A$M on the road better than Bama handled them at home. Or, Florida should handle LSU based on the way they played Tennessee on the road.

So what happens if Bama beats us, Ole Miss beats Bama, and someone else beats Ole Miss?
Division record comes into play at some point, I think.

LSU would NOT hold the lead in 3 way tie based on what I've read on tie-break rules assuming all 3 teams have 2 SEC losses and scenario below plays out. They MUST beat Ala. Plain and simple.

Here's simple explanation:
LINK

In case of 3-way tie for division w all 3 teams having 2 SEC losses in all likelihood Ala would have to beat LSU, Ole Miss would have to beat Ala, and Ole Miss would have to trip up against Ark or Moo State. In this scenario (see above) Ole Miss would be eliminated b/c of 2 divisional losses. That would mean LSU and ALA would battle it out head-to-head w only 1 divisional loss b/c both lost to Tenn. in other division. 1st tiebreaker at that point is head-to-head.
Just WIN Baby!!!! I like our chances.

His point is to appreciate where we are compared to the expectations and the disappointment of the last 2 years. I don't think he means we accomplished anything notable, just that we are in position to do so and no one would have predicted that in June.
