I believe he was sitting on the bench the whole game as others have stated and PJ played. The blind hatred some people have here for TBob because they don’t like his Dad is amazing. The dude LOVES LSU and is a great alma mater for the school.

I'd love to know what, exactly, made them maintain this level of anger after so many years.

Probably all the blood, sweat and tears they poured into that season dismantling every team they played sans Bama just to see it all get thrown away in what was the biggest game in program history because Les refused to adapt to anything Bama was doing that game. Its one thing to lose a rematch with them, its another to lose it and make absolutely zero attempts at adjusting your gameplan. Thats what all the best coaches do, they adjust as the game goes on and we didnt do that.

I still like Les overall for 2007 and the other big wins he brought us but I also get why so many players from that team harbor a lot of resentment towards him to this day. That was their shot at being an all-time team and the head coach blew it spectacularly.

They don't win the 11/5 game at Bama without Jefferson, Lee wet the bed. But regardless, that Bama defense was unreal, no one we faced this year was remotely close.

It's time to let it go. That was a really good team that lost to an even better one. This year was truly special

They didn't even show up. That was a complete team failure, coaches and players. He should be bitter with himself.

What I remember most about that game was Kevin mawae talking on the radio about how the oline was completely outmaneuvered by the way Saban attacked them. specifically with a nose guard over the center. And about how they never changed the scheme the whole game. He basically said the coaches fricked the whole team because they didn’t know how to adapt. He lined out some things they could have done for like ten minutes and was like any of these things would have completely changed the game. It wasn’t talent. It was 100% oline v dline scheme and that the LSU coaches didn’t even try to change. They were doing the same thing on the last drive of the game they had been trying since the first drive.

It was an impressive rant and has always made me wonder how he isn’t an LSU line coach

I recall LSU having a pretty effective offense under Lee until Blackwell and company shite the bed at Tuscaloosa.

So Will might oughtta check himself.

This is truth. They walked out flat and completely lifeless. Zero energy as they took the field.

The offense was good with Lee in as the efficiency stats proved.
2011 actually had one point higher MoV than 2019, but 2019 GOAT imo.
Regarding Lee efficiency stats, the highest 3 game stretch for ypg and points was post 11-5 Bama and pre-UGA / NCG (vs #5 and #1 D).
Still a great Tiger and I don't wan't get into his stats vs Bama.

I agree. JJ was needed to win 9-6.

It was a great defense especially against offenses like LSU. I think this years LSU team would’ve scored on it. 2011 Bama didn’t play against a single dynamic offense except Arkansas. I would’ve liked to see Bamas 260lb LBs have to cover the field against Oregon or WV like LSU did.

What did he say?

That Miles pretty much abandoned the players during, and forever after that game

"I haven't talked to (LSU) Coach (Les) Miles," he said. "I haven't spoken with him. I'd be interested to see what he had to say but I haven't had any contact with him recently.

It has been tough to get a hold of him. I'm finished, so he doesn't need me anymore."

Damn I didn’t know that. I love how coach O encourages former players to come back to the program.

He wasn’t alone at all.

Les had them practicing so much, they were worn out.

Players were leaving the field after marathon brutal practices and flipping him off behind his back.

I'm tired of reading this bullshite narrative. Miles knew his decision to pull Lee was the wrong one, so he ramped up the offense to make JJ look like a world beater

W Ky 42-9. In a similar lopsided game against NSU, Lee never saw the field in the 2nd half. Yet JJ played deep into the 4th qtr of this one

Ole Miss 52-3. Same story

Arky 41-17. Les had JJ trying to score so late into this rout, that the cameras picked up Petrino telling Miles "frick you, motherfricker"

LINK

Then Miles ran into Ga and Bama, and even though JJ couldn't move the ball, Lee never saw the field. Even after 2010 when Les called on Lee to basically save Miles' job with clutch performances against Tenn, Fla, and Bama
