Jay has the luxury of having a ton of options here. Cooper Williams will get a hard look to have a lefty in the rotation.

I don't even think that CJJ knows that right now, at least for the SEC conference games. This will be sorted out during the very early season non-conference games.

As of right now it will be Evans on Friday, Cooper Moore on Saturday, and Will Schmidt on Sunday for now.

Willliams better show he can throw strikes

Throwing Strikes wasn’t a problem for Williams last year. The only thing that will limit Williams is his ability to over power hitters because he wasn’t a high velocity lefty last year. Maybe he gained some mph on his fastball from last year. I believe he can be a starter.

I'm excited too see if Derek Curiel has gained some strength during the off season.
Your boy went yard today in intrasquad play. DC6 looks to be ready for a big season

I’d guess it’d be Evans, Moore, and Cowan to start the season.

Am I wrong to be overconfident and overly excited about this?

Noot and Sheerin will also be in the mix…… not a bad problem to have.

Jay hasn’t mentioned Sheerin in the list of guys they are stretching out to be in the mix to start. Sheerin seems more set to handle the backend of games and/or to be a leverage arm.

Moore was all Big 12. He will start Friday or Saturday.
Go listen to both of Johnson’s recent interviews about Moore. Dardar “is a lot better defender than he thought” and could factor in on the infield.” Meaning 2nd base or 3rd. He has a plethora of riches

Cowan is a nice Sunday starter. Reliable five innings without giving up a lot of walks and big innings. Keep the big guns for Friday and Saturday starts and relief.

I suspect with the depth of this staff, we’re gonna see a lot of 1-2 punches vs 6+ innings from starters

Think something like Evans + Cooper Williams + Rizy on Fridays

Cooper Moore + Cowan on Sat

Schmidt and wholestaff Sun

To me, Cooper Williams is a key to this whole season. I could see him having a rover role to affect multiple weekend games. He was nails from left side down the stretch last year. I could also see him emerging into a weekend starter.

Excited to get Gavin back this year too

We effing loaded baws, let’s ride!

It wouldn’t shock me to see Noot, Fontenot, Dathe, and others be on Sunday or mid-week. Paez will factor in at some point too.
Noot and Fontenot are both capable to start as I’m sure they have progressed this off season. Noot was FINALKY getting healthy last season and we saw glimpses of what could be.

Don't sleep on Reagan Ricken. Kid is put together very well and once he develops I suspect that he will be a nice piece of our staff. I missed seeing his outing yesterday but I'm looking forward to watching him develop

One of the ones I heard he made it sound like he was shocked Moore’s numbers were so good in the fall

I saw him in the fall and his stuff is kind of flat. Curious to see how it does in the SEC.
