Well, now you know why your large 22 year old son and his large friend want your old arse around.

Any pointers for those that have been in these situations before?
Grow up? Learn to walk away. Discourage your son from drinking in that environment if he's too immature to walk away.

I went in '19 with 3 friends, we were all late 30's at the time. Oxford was literally the tamest shite I have ever seen. Never felt threatened 1 time. Hell we even went and sat in the grove under a tent that had tables and chairs all set out. No one said anything to us. A guy came over and said hey this is my family's setup, but they aren't coming, so y'all are fine. I am sure they will be all full of piss and vinegar this weekend, but as long as your son doesn't instigate anything, I suspect, with his size, no one is gonna say shite

OM fans won't be intimidating with their dress shirts tucked into shorts and Sperries. You'll be fine.

90%+ of fans anywhere are normal people and aren’t looking to get in physical fights or act ugly to another adult over a football game.

The only way he’ll get in a fight is if he allows some jackass to taunt him into one. As long as he just takes things in stride and de-escalates then all will be good.

Almost 0% of fans anywhere will just go up and sucker punch someone for wearing the wrong jersey.

I give you balls for asking this question on this board...setting yourself up...

Act cool...laugh.. it won't be as dramatic as the meda is hyping....Old Piss fans are mostly pussies anyways.

I think this is being way overblown. We went to the fiesta bowl decked out in LSU gear for ole miss vs Miami last year and didn’t have any serious issues. A couple jabs here and there that was it. Ole Miss fans are pasty preppy pussies they’re not going to cause any problems

Tell them to stop at a good buzz and swallow their pride and egos for a day. It’ll be fine.

Spend as little money as possible. Don’t give those “southern gentlemen” hillbillies one nickel more than you absolutely have to.
