A very solid, blue collar career at LSU. Roy was always there to open up plays for our playmakers.

This is a good point. You would also be good to point out that all of this availability was on teams that struggled to get off the field on D, which meant Roy had to play tons of snaps without being in a good D-line rotation. If we had proper team depth, his stats may have been better. But, he still played solid. I think NFL will be kinder to him, if he gets to the right team and has proper team depth.

Should have redshirted him during the Covid year. He had a great season this year , which should have been his RS Soph.

Sure I can by looking at the lack of development his players received especially on DL. He also was a poor talent evaluator and let many great players leave the state he wasn't interested in. He let Burns who's our starting S now walk out the state to Georgia because he wanted to slow play him. That's just one of many examples. There's not a single DL he recruited that lived up to expectations. Even though he had several solid ones you could argue they underachieved including Roy who probably should've been more dominating than he played. I wouldn't be shocked if his NFL career is better than his time at LSU. Guillory certainly hasn't lived up to expectations.

He could easily spot a high end talent like Roy as anyone could but he struggled to develop them. He also wasn't very good at identifying and projecting players as you saw with Etienne. Like I said, overrated in recruiting. Part of that is evaluating and identifying which he wasn't great at. Development is coaching but maybe could be argue on evaluating/projections which he was poor at.

Then you obviously are completely ignorant to how he recruited or you live in your own little world. He let several guys in Louisiana up and leave because he whiffed on their evaluations and talent projection. Guys that went on to have excellent careers. That's part of recruiting and he was bad at it as was his personnel management recruiting. He could not identify needs on the roster and properly fill them which is why we had so many holes in positions.

If I remember correctly, many top notch P5 schools wanted him, including Saban. I would've liked to have had him 1 more year. Good Player.

Godchaux became a starter half way through his freshman year and was a mainstay in the lineup. Roy was good this year, but average at best his first few years.

Godchaux was a better college player. Roy is a little more well rounded to play every down in the nfl. He’s a top 100 player if not top 2rds
