Kelly has his final three candidates down to Meatball, Pete Jenkins, and one of the Orgeron boys.

Yea, I mean how dare fans think the 2020 and 2021 seasons were completely unacceptable and not be ok with an unprofessional moron running the program.

Feels like I read "How refreshing" threads all last year. While it's true, it's also played out.

ZerOeaux would be on his 5th candidate, all publicly known, with no hire and being a distraction.

The dude that was DC during the 2021 season ( I forget his name ) was the 9th coach he interviewed or talked to and that is the ones we know of. It very could have been more. Dude had only been a DC at the DII level and their were ppl on here wanting Kelly to keep him.

I don't think people are butthurt, they're just so relieved that Cousin Eddie isn't embarrassing LSU any longer, and we have more than 38 players on scholarship.

I am very thankful to Orgeron for 2019.

I am also very thankful that Orgeron is gone.

The greatest season in college football history doesn’t happen without Coach O

right, ONLY Ed Oregon was capable of that.

not any of the people who have had many years of successful coaching. Only the guy who has only done anything even halfway kinda sorta maybe resembling that year could have done it.

I guess the consolation is he did recruit the players that made up the best team in LSU history and probably the best college football team ever and won a National Championship for us. So there’s that. Oh and he gave a QB nobody wanted a chance and he ended up winning a Heisman.

The defense finished that year as one of the best in the country. And as I recall one of the first choices failed after getting to Woodward.

But I appreciate how the op is trying to make himself feel good about not filling a key coaching spot.

No, he would have hired the 1st candidate without interviewing him.

No problem. Woody said I got this. Your DC will be Pelini.

The obsession with shitting on former coaches on this board is disgusting.

Orgeron was 51-20 overall 31-17 SEC 4-1 in bowls an SEC and national title.

Nick Saban was48-16 28-12 SEC 3-2 in bowls 2 SEC titles and one national title at LSU.

Not a lot of variance there.

Nick left for the NFL. O was fired. What shape did Nick leave the program v. O ? Both won natties here and a credit them both for that.

Ed Orgeron coached the greatest college football team that has ever played the game. MANY college football coaches have never come CLOSE to coaching a national champion.

You may not like him, how he talks, some of the things he's done and said. But you can't argue with success.

He came from nowhere .... literally, nowhere. He left home to play the game, coach, stayed with it for years.

It paid off for him, for LSU, for Joe Burrow.

Why is that a problem for you?

"white trash"? what do you mean by THAT exactly?

Jones showed a lot of promise once Orgeron stopped fricking with him.

I never wanted to keep him as DC but I wouldn’t have hated to see him stay on as safeties or DB coach.

Hell I’m not convinced Cooks is any better and I like Cooks. But if you told me tomorrow that Cooks was out and Jones was in I’d be fine with it.
