He's the one that DID do it. That stands for something. How embarrassing is it for all these "successful" coaches that a "hillbilly" boy from good ol' Louisiana holds the GOAT team title over them all? Miami fans still hold Coker to some esteem for that '01 Hurricane team. We just eat our own

Very good DL coach.

May be able to succeed as a HC at a smaller State school like Nicholls or McNeese.........

I honestly have no idea how to judge the O tenure at LSU. He was HC in 6 seasons, his 1st was a complete salvage job and he did about as well i think could be done given the situation. His 2nd seemed like he was building something and it led to a Fiesta Bowl and a NC in back to back years. It really did seem like he had learned from past mistakes and was building a monster. Then it just completely derailed quickly. Looking back it is absolutely nuts how fast he went off a cliff.

I will always love that 2019 team O put together. But he seemed to “check out” once that Natty was in the bag.

That can happen when you start letting your little head take over for your big head

I give him credit for doing it (unlike some).

But even the most die hard O fan has to admit that some of what led to that would have most likely still transpired no matter who was coaching at LSU.
And other still may have depending on who the other coach would have been.

But to say that absolutely nobody else could have done is simply being shortsighted.

yeah I'm sure guys like Dabo, Saban, Meyer, Smart etc. are all really pissed that they didn't have one amazing season instead of consistently being near the top and winning multiple titles.

I don't know anybody that doesn't give Butch Davis damn near full credit for that '01 team.

I doubt it since no ad thought enough of his coaching to let him run a side of the ball, let alone be a hc.

Nick Saban was48-16 28-12 SEC 3-2 in bowls 2 SEC titles and one national title at LSU.

Saban took over a lsu program that hadn't won shite since 1988

O took over one of the most prestigious football programs since the turn of the century and within 2 years had that same program worse than it had been since saban took over.

But hey don't fact or context get in the way of your opinion.

But you can't argue with success.

Success?

He went to ole miss and had the worst tenure ever at a program full of shite tenures.
He went to one of the winningest programs in all of cfb since 2000, had a great 2019, and then proceeded to run that program into the ground and have the worst seasons in over 2 decades.

O always has been a shite hc.
Good things he kept miles' coaches and Burrow had a relationship with someone on staff. Ensminger is the one that brought up brady coming to lsu.

Coker had 1 bad season at Miami.
Coker didn't spend his entire career taking unprovoked shots at Miami prior to getting hired at Miami like O did to lsu.

It’s just nice to have someone verbalize information so there isn’t loose holes and people/or media jumping to conclusions.
Whether we want to believe or not these boards are powerful and outsiders read it.
Negatigers around the program can hurt possibilities I’m certain of that.

*For instance do you think outside basketball players want to come to our program after we engulfed it with the “Dead Man Walking” Scenarios?
Real quick. The answer is no.
