Assuming we’re up big in the second half against the Lions, how much do you play Brennan? It’s probably one of the 3 games this year where you feel comfortable putting him in there for an extended period of time and getting experience. However, I want to see the starting offense get as much game practice as they can before going to Auburn. What say you?

I want Burrow to get all the reps to be honest.

He needs to get in sync with our receivers.

I wouldn't play him unless I absolutely had to. Never know how the season will unfold. If you get to Game 9 maybe you can think of playing him. But hold him out unless you NEED to play him.

zero. First, we need to get our offense grooved for Auburn the following week. And there's no need to waste a game of the 4 allowed for Brennan to redshirt.

He should get a majority of 4th quarter reps. As long as Joe looks like he’s ready for Auburn.

Run that mf score up. We gotta be ready

With the new redshirt rules, I may rather see the 3rd guy and hold Brennan for the inevitable concussion/stinger Burrow is going to get at some point.

We may need him in 4 games and still not burn the redshirt...

If we are up big, pull Burrow in the 3rd. No reason to risk an injury in a meaningless game. May need Brennan later on so get him some real game reps.

What's the best way to use these assuming no injury to Burrow?

4th Q if E will let him throw it with a big lead. Who wants a green QB potentially going in vs AU not having run a live play since early last year?

This is stupid.
Brennan is one injury away from being our starting and only QB. He needs experience and reps.
That's the benefit of Burrow's mature and confident play last week.

With the new redshirt rule....is there a set amount of time Brennan can play or is it any amount of time in 4 games?

Thats right. Too early in the season to play him if you are thinking of RS him. Wait until you need him. And then figure it out as you go.

Burrow plays 1 st half and first series or 2 into the 3rd quarter.

Then Brennan the rest of the way. You pull your top WRs and get some of the 2nd tier and younger guys some game experience. The same can be said for the entire 1st team offense and defense except for some of the less experienced OL.

Keep them in for game reps and to protect your only real option behind burrow

Would love to redshirt Brennan but losing Burrow in a blowout over southeastern would be worse. I don't think we're going to be able to play the season hoping to save Brennan. It could cost us a game, by Brennan needing to come in vs a good team and not be prepared.

This is where the McMillan transfer hurts us. He would have likely gotten significant playing time if he'd stayed, but most would be garbage time.
