If LSU ends up winning the west and goes to the SEC championship, does that impact the 4 games? Just curious as to whether its 4 games if you play 12 or 15 or if it's some percentage of the season.

This would be the smart thing to do, but we'll see.

Zero. Save his 4 games for as long as possible, in case Burrow gets injured.

But what if we were to put Brennan in against the lions and he gets injured. Then in the Auburn game Joe gets injured. Anyone think of that ? Do you people know what happened to Boobi Miles when he went in for Mop up duty ?

If that happened, Coach Gary Gaines would have Mike Winchell ready to go.

Gotta work MB a little in clean up time--And have less risk of injury to JB- If were up by 20+ in 4th give the kid some snaps...

I can already see the melt on here when Brennan comes in the game in the 4th quarter

If it's for mop up duty, and handing the ball off, I will be the first to melt. Sale can handle that just fine.

Stop the stupid bullshite.

Joe Burrow should get every single snap.

Ask Nick Saban.

He never took his starting QB’s out of the game.

Y’all act like these QB’s have been in the NFL for 5 years.

NONE. It’s way more important for Burrow to get meaningful reps with his receivers in live action than it is for Brennon to hand off the ball in garbage time. Burrow has ONE collegiate start under his belt & the LSU receiving corps is young & inexperienced; they all need reps.

We get this in practice
Practicing against SLU is inferior to practicing against LSU’s defense. There is something missing in the brains of you guys who think that if you don’t personally witness it, it didn’t happen. And don’t give me this BS about live action being different than practice. It’s different if you’re going against Bama or Georgia - maybe even Florida or the Aggies - but not friggin SLU. They are equivalent to our scout team.

Cannot leave Jeaux in the entire game & risk injury.

Get comfortable lead & put MB in.

Uh, see the 2002 season when $aban left Matt Mauck in late in the game at the Swamp...& lost him for the season with a foot injury.

None. God forbid Burrow goes down the last four games of the year and Brennan loses redshirt over southeastern. Save Brennan until the end.

Zero need. Brennan is working with the team in practice, and if Burrow is injured, he can come in.

Prior to the Miami game, Brennan had probably more actual time on the field than Burrow, and he continues to have more time working in the offense we're running.

Brennan can redshirt if he appears in 4 or less games. It appears a given that Burrow will a) keep the job, and b) will not be a huge pro prospect that leaves early.
We don't have anyone behind Brennan in the pipeline.

It seems tight, but avoiding injuries, this becomes pretty easy: you dress Brennan, but don't randomly put him in games, especially early in the season, just to do it. If you can make it to where he can redshirt, he becomes the clear starter for 20 and 21. He will have been in the system long enough to run things well, and he has the arm to be a special QB when he does take over.

Get past the midpoint, and maybe Brennan can mop up against Arkansas, Rice and A&M. Rice seems like the game you let him play some.

Zero. JB needs reps. And If Burrow happens to het hurt and misses a game or two it would be nice to still RS Myles

None. Let Burrow get into a groove with the WRs. Need to use this game for that; got a huge game the following week.

can anyone clarify the actual redshirt rule, as it stands now? Is there a limit to how many plays, or what part of the season they play?

If it's JUST appeared in 4 or less games, and didn't start- that's going to make just about every backup QB eligible.

If you have a proven starter, you're not going to just pull him randomly.
