How much does Lane/Weis change the offense?

Everyone knows every play he has ran. It’s called tape.

Lane/Weis will tailor their concepts to best use the talent set we have on the team. It honestly isn’t much deeper than that.

I think the pace will change a ton. We were terrible at getting plays in last season and one of the slowest teams in the nation in pace.

Lane likes mobile QBs in his offense, so I'd expect to see a much different QB style of play compared to what we saw with Nuss.

I expect route trees designed to open up a primary receiver... in other words, there will be a purpose in the routes and progressions.

Lane is notorious for successful running games, so just seeing him get a running game going will be a big change.

Of course they know each other‘s base plays and schemes, but Kiffin and VWeiss are higher on the football IQ scale than DUI Pete

Lane has put up crazy offensive numbers at each stop. Why would it change now when he will have the best talent since he was OC for Saban at Bama.

I think the question is how much will Kiffin/Weis change up the offense from the Ole Miss days so as to change up on Golding, knowing he knows Kiffin's tendencies.

My bet is that LSU will play pretty 'generic Kiffin' in the first half, so Golding won't be able to make any halftime adjustments.

Then come out in the second half with the real gameplan, and see if Pete can figure things out on the fly. And I'm guessing he won't be able to.

Just like LK and CW know his defensive schemes.

Most of the time its not what plays you call, its when you call them.

when's the last time we've had an oc or coach that didnt say this...les may have even lied and said this. I specifically remember other ocs saying this and it being bs ...I beleive kiff though

are you football ignorant? Do you really know nothing about X and O's?

SO pete knows plays. how does that help him if lane is unpredictable per down and distance? per where the ball is? unpredictable using multiple players for similar plays? and if he guesses right we still may out execute him. they may take away a certain player but we go to next read and execute the play.
