re: How much does a ball have to be tipped for it to be tipped?

The thing that pissed me off more than anything was the one side judge who routinely spotted that ball incorrectly in Bama's favor.
It was corrected a couple of times, but a few times it was not.

The movement of his finger moving back is exactly the obvious thing to look for, excellent point!

He definitely grazed it but didn't alter the ball. Not enough to turn over
What? If he “definitely grazed it” then it absolutely is enough to turn over lol.

My season tickets are on Row 19 in the lower bowl of the SEZ. The play was right in front of us. We all could see that the ball was tipped in live action based on the irregular movement of the ball as it crossed over the defense. LSU DL had an immediate reaction that the ball was tipped.
Video replay failed on that review.

In the irony of all ironies the refs gave us the tip.

I could see all the way from 243 that it was tipped and the trajectory changed by a yard or so. The angles shown on tv were terrible angles and made it appear it wasn’t tipped at all. Believe me, it was tipped and definitely went off course by a yard or so.
The Jumbotrons in the stadium clearly showed the tip. They also froze the frame right before, showing the position of the hand, and froze it at contact, showing that the ball and fingers were clearly in contact, then you could see the finger snap back. Everyone in the stadium saw the tip at least 6 or 7 times on the screens.

He got his whole hand on it and deflected it to the other side of the field.
What? The ball didn’t even change trajectory

First look on TV, the Ball was clearly tipped as you could see the middle finger deflect.
Right after that, the ref on the analysis team said it was clearly tipped.
After that, they went to a different angle, grainy video, that was hard to see. They never once played the initial clip again because it didn't fit the Bama narrative.
Replay blew that big time!

Indisputable video evidence according to the rules.

Did you only put the tip in?
Posted on 11/6/22 at 4:47 pm to The Boat
It's like his fingers bent backwards for no reason
Posted on 11/6/22 at 4:49 pm to The Boat
Same rules as “just the tip” just for a second.

The message Kelly sent was we're taking the excuses out of the equation and taking control of the narrative ourselves.

Wingo clearly got a couple of fingers on the ball. It’s like the officials said “yeah but the ball didn’t change flight so it wasn’t tipped.”
The ball is tipped if it’s touched. I’m glad LSU won because there is a pile of shite calls a mile high from last night.
It was not clear that the ball was tipped. According to the replay, it not change the ball flight in the slightest way. At least you couldn't tell it from the replay. Gump Replay Central was thrilled that there was no indisputable evidence that it was tipped.

Agreed. This was egregious and it needs to be addressed by the SEC, which can start by moving its offices from Birmingham.

You don’t understand. It’s not the balled that has to be tipped; it’s the crew in Mobile.

One fingernail is a tipped ball but guess they were looking for change of trajectory
