It really is - Cal got his boy Dick to do a number on WW and everyone else piled on while others who had done worse and even admitted to worse get a pass. And WW is a little cocky so they just double down because of that.
And it has really driven the narrative and yes....it has affected LSU basketball in the rankings and in discussions by pundits and all that goes with it.

Media poll rankings don’t matter at all.
NET rankings and the Selection Committe’s seedings matter. But only at the end of the season.

We have lost the only two games that mattered to voters. We are winning the ones we were supposed to win. That's how you end up on the outside looking in this late in the season.
If we lose to Bama that'll justify the voters issues with us. We HAVE to win both games this week to get into the rankings

The truly great teams can score the way this LSU team can and will have one or two stars that could be pros already and they have that with Thomas and Watford. The best teams have options behind the top guys that can be relied on to pick it up when the first and second option are having trouble, and with Days and Smart that box is checked as well. The best teams have size everywhere and can just run over teams if they need to, and this is the first chink in the armor we come to with this roster, they don't have elite size and have to put it work to make up the lack of positioning. The best teams are also elite defensive teams a lot the time and usually are at the very least in the top 5 of their conference in points per game given up. And while they have a couple guys that can play great individual defense, the team is not one that will be confused with Virginia any time soon. The lack of a true rim protecting defensive player is a real hole in the roster that Wade desperately tried to fill and after cisse walked he brought in Penn-Johnson for that one and only area...and the kid busts out in a really surprising turn... All in all this team can hang with any team as long a the shots are falling, but when they face a team that can stop them and put up points themselves that's when you see all the talent they have look lost and it's up to guys like smart and days to get us through those times. They could beat a top 5 team one night and lose to a conference bottom feeder having their best game and seeing their shots not falling ....
They will be ranked if they can get through the next two games without losing both or getting blown out in either. A win and a close loss is still acceptable, but two wins and they will play their next game after the visit to Rupp as the 21-24th ranked team.

As usual, our fate is in our own hands. Alabama, Tennessee and Missouri are all ranked. Just win those games and there is no problem.

I love the Tigers and am a huge fan of CWW just look at my post history.
The best 3 pt shooting team they played was UF. Everyone else were ok to bad. Bama has a very experienced team that can get out and run and distribute the ball inside and out. That will open up shots because of LSUs inability to play consistent transition defense which would lead to open runs or picks on the perimeter by pulling back to the open shooter from the run before the behalf court defense is set.
