Hindsight is always 20/20. If Sloan had Jayden, he wouldn’t have looked as bad as he did. Two things can be true.

Sloan was never qualified and should be fired immediately.

Who was stumping for Sloan as opposed to bringing in an elite OC?

And ND beat USC and Texas A&M when we couldn’t. We don’t beat UGA this year. Freeman owned BK in this debate

Denbrock nearly lost Notre Dame the game with his playcalling at the end of the game.

It took one of the worst QB decisions I've ever seen for Notre Dame to get the chance to to win the game.

Sloan should have been relieved from his duties right after Underwood flipped

Atm lost by a yard on 4th and goal play for the game. Notre dame barely scored a point. And usc was driving to tie the game and threw a pick 6. Both close and almost lost games as well.

Nuss actually had a great year. It was situational failure at times because of bad personnel. I’m not sure I’m done with him yet. But yeah I don’t think he’s a Denbrock

Do you get the Heisman he produced? Or the fact that he’s in the championship game? I mean, you have to at least “understand” the love lol. Even if you don’t agree with it.

The playcalling wasn't monumentally different from '22 to '23. In fact, we still had the same short yardage failures in 23 that we had in 22. Same play calls and all.

The difference was JD had a year under his belt (coached by Sloan directly). his receivers had another year under their belt, and they executed at a much higher rate. JD was more confident in 23 knowing his WR could catch any and everything.

JD is now doing the same thing in an entirely different system than Denbrocks. It was the players much more than it was Denbrock.

HE HAS MADE A LOT OF HIRING MISTAKES..............

Didn't retain Baker
Hired House.
Didn't retain Oneofus.
Hired Steeples and Cooks.
Didn't retain McMahon.
Hired Polian.
Lost Denbrock.
Promoted "In over his Head" Sloan.
Lost Lindsey to Illness, then didn't hire a competent DL Coach in a timely manner.
Didn't hire an experienced OL Guru.
Retained "Orgeron Hired" MA OL Coach Davis.

BK said that no matter what, it’s his offense. It definitely looked like towards the end of the year, he got more involved in the playcalling, and it was a little better.

Maybe he thinks Sloan has potential. Either way, it’ll fall on BK. For my own sanity, I have to believe that he knows what he’s doing. All I know is that they have to find a consistent running game and not expect Nuss to be heisman caliber in order to make a 12 team playoff.
